Remy Raglan Top Kit

Let the fabric take centre stage with this paired back make - this Sewing Society kit includes everything you need to make the Remy Raglan Top by Sew House Seven!

An easy, everyday top, the Remy Raglan is a true wardrobe staple that really allows the fabric to shine. Fitted across the shoulders with a more relaxed shaping over the body, Remy is a super comfortable pop-over design.

The neckline has just the right amount of scoop and is finished with bias binding for a neat look. Keep it simple with the plain front option, or sew the split front for a little extra detail. We’ve included a gorgeous corozo button for this view which closes with a dainty button loop.

Remy’s raglan sleeves help to provide shaping and are simple to sew. They come with three options for finish and style: short sleeve, ¾ sleeve or a bracelet length gathered sleeve. The short and ¾ sleeves are designed to be rolled up and Lauren also shows you how to create a cute cuff on them.

With no bust darts to sew or zips to install, Remy makes for a quick and satisfying sew! A great option for confident beginners but with enough details to keep more advanced makers interested.

All views can be made in any of the fabrics.

For this kit we've chosen two fabric bases in four colours. Delicate embroidered blossom voile in green, blue and lavender as well as a pink embroidered sprig double gauze.

The embroidered blossom fabric has a voile base which is lightweight and drapey, with a dainty flower design stitched on. It hangs beautifully and gives an almost ethereal feel to the gathered sleeves. This fabric is 55% cotton, 45% polyester.

The pink embroidered sprig is a 100% cotton double gauze with a beautiful embroidered design of little leafy sprigs on a dusky pink coloured background. The gauze is beautifully soft to the touch and is a little more structured than the voile, so would create gorgeous, dramatic gathered sleeves.

To see the fabric close up check out the video in the main gallery above by swiping left.

This pattern comes in two size bands. The PDF files are split across the following size brackets:

Standard fit: US sizes 00-20 (bust 31”-47”, waist 23.5"-39.5”)

Curvy fit: US sizes 14-34 (bust 41.5”-61.5”, waist 35.25"-57.25”)

You will receive digital files for ALL sizes, but please select your kit size option above - this will include the corresponding print out.

The Curvy fit was designed for a fuller bust (D cup and above) and waist and narrower shoulders. For more information on calculating your dressmakers cup size, please read this article or follow the link at the bottom of this listing.

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren’s exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.

She shares her hints and tips on getting a really lovely finish on your garment including cutting out and working with embroidered fabric, how to sew French seams, how to finish the neckline with bias binding, how to draft a sleeve cuff and much more!

The video has over 34 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please file this safely for future reference.

This pattern is aimed at beginner sewers, particularly if making the plain front view with the short or ¾ length sleeves.

The split front neckline and gathered sleeve options add a little more challenge, but these techniques are covered in Lauren’s top tips video.

To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.

A tailor’s ham is useful for pressing the neckline, but a rolled up towel can also be used.

If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.

Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.

We will aim to dispatch all kits as soon as possible after orders are placed, and we aim to have all kits shipped out by Friday 18th August.

As Sewing Society kits are processed and shipped from a different location to the shop, we are unable to group together kit orders with past or subsequent orders or combine orders retrospectively. Please click here for the full g&g Sewing Society shipping terms.
