What a year it’s been for Sewing Society kits—2024 has definitely brought some new favourites to the collection!Releasing these carefully planned and lovingly curated kits is always such an exciting moment for our small team here at G&G.
We put so much thought into designing and building each kit before sending them out across the globe. It’s incredibly rewarding, and we’re so thankful for the love and support you continue to show.
This year felt extra special as we hosted our first in-store kit launch in October to celebrate our 20,000 kit leaving the g&g shop. It was such a joy to meet so many of you, see you shop the kits in person, and share the day with the team wearing the sample makes.
To continue to celebrate your incredible sewing society kit makes from this year’s releases, we’ve rounded up all the 2024 kits along with some of your fantastic creations—enjoy!
After a little break in January, we were so excited to start 2024 with two super super kits in February!
First up was the Coco Top from Tilly and the Buttons—a classic wardrobe staple that’s always in style. We paired this timeless pattern with a yarn-dyed striped French Terry, a lovely knitted fabric that’s smooth on the outside and has that cosy looped back. In Lauren’s Top Tips video, loads of helpful techniques were shared, like how to cut and match stripes, use Stretchfix, add twill tape to the back neckline, and finish the hem split with a neat twill tape detail.
Next came the Georgie Dress by Sew Over It, a chic but super comfy knit dress that’s easy to wear and style for everyday life. We picked three gorgeous jerseys for this kit: navy multi-sprinkle, teal scribble dot, and purple flower shadows. These fabrics have excellent stretch and recovery, plus they’re soft, breathable, and so lovely to wear. In Lauren’s video, we walked through everything from cutting jersey fabric and using Maraflex thread to inserting Framilastic at the neckline and waist, sewing sleeves in flat, and adding beautiful gathers.
Both of these kits were all about making knits feel approachable and fun, while helping you sew pieces you’ll love to wear.

October was a special month for us as we introduced two new fabrics from our Vintage Bauhaus Fabric collection. These exclusive prints were created in collaboration with the talented surface pattern designer Rachel Parker, offering a fresh take on the iconic Bauhaus aesthetic.
The Bauhaus Teal Jigsaw and Navy Segments viscose were the first in our Vintage Bauhaus collection. They capture the clean lines and bold geometric shapes that defined the Bauhaus movement. These vibrant colours and striking patterns make these fabrics statement pieces that blend homage to the original art form with a modern twist.
The fabric itself is a subtly textured 100% viscose crepe, feeling soft and silky to the touch. It has a lovely sheen that catches the light beautifully. At 108gsm, it’s perfect for garments with great drape, like the Myosotis Dress—a breezy, slightly oversized dress with a comfortable fit thanks to bust and waist darts. Alongside the purchase of this kit Lauren shared her hints and tips on getting a really lovely finish on your garment including how to sew the collar and button placket, how to French seam the bodice, how to lengthen the sleeve and add a gathered cuff, how to sew the ruffle layers and how to make covered buttons!
