We believe that when you spend your precious time making your own clothes, it deserves only the best supplies! So, we've thought of everything from thread and needles to haberdashery items. The kits include exactly what you need to make a gorgeous handmade garment all in one box using popular Indie sewing patterns and only the most beautiful and best quality dressmaking fabrics we can find!
On the first Wednesday of each month, at midday UK time, we release 2 brand new Sewing Society kits that feature our favourite indie sewing patterns along with everything you need to complete that project with a choice of fabric options.
Those that are signed up to the newsletter get first access to the new kits, with any remaining stock going on general sale the following day.
Availability is limited and sometimes the kits can sell out quickly depending on demand at the time!
By signing up to our newsletter and selecting that you would like to hear about The g&g Sewing Society kits, you will get access to the kits on the first Wednesday of each month at midday.
This means you will have a higher chance of securing a kit before they sell out.
The kits will be promoted for general sale from the first Thursday of each month.
If you are already a newsletter subscriber you must update your preferences to ensure you have opted in to hear about The g&g sewing society. You can update your preferences by clicking the 'update preferences' link at the bottom of any email we have have sent to you.
This will vary each month. Some will be suitable for those still new to dressmaking while others will be great for advancing your skills to the next level and taking on a challenge.
The type of fabric will also vary each month and be a mixture of stretch and woven base clothes with a focus on natural fibres.
No, this is not a subscription service. Each kit can be purchased independently each month and there is no charge to sign up to the newsletter.
As we will feature different patterns with different fabrics each month, the price of the kits will vary and reflect the amount of fabric and the number of haberdashery notions that you need for the project.
Laurens exclusive top hints and tips Youtube video that comes with each kit, that can be used alongside the pattern instructions, will talk you through key construction steps and help you achieve finishing touches on your garment that you'll feel super proud of!
Join the friendly Sewing Society Community on Facebook in the private members group. Once you have purchased a kit or Sewing Society video, simply request to join by clicking this link and answering the membership questions.
It's a lovely space to share your Sewing Society makes and ask questions to others who are working on the same projects as you.
A specific date range of dispatch for each kit will be detailed in the listing for the kit. Normally the max dispatch time is approx 2 weeks after the kits go on sale but you may receive it sooner.
Please pay close attention to this date range so you know when you expect your kit.
All kits will be sent out in recyclable packaging with everything neatly packaged up inside. It’ll be like getting a little present each month - or a perfect ready made gift for a friend!
International orders or orders for both kits on sale at the same time may be placed in a compostable mail sack for extra protection during transit.
