Pogonip Pullover Kit

A snuggly top layer that will keep you warm all winter long, this kit contains everything you need to make the Pogonip Pullover from Friday Pattern Company!

The Pogonip Pullover is the perfect layer for all your outdoor adventures, or as an extra indoor layer if you feel the cold easily!

The Pogonip is an unlined pullover which has spacious welt pockets inserted into the front panel. At the top there's a generous collar which is closed at the front with a half front placket and snap fasteners.

The roomy sleeves are finished with elastic cuffs, as is the hem. The elastic can easily be omitted for a boxier look though, as we did on our blue and pink samples.

The Pogonip is a great layering piece for the cooler months that can be popped on over jumpers and roll-necks when the temperature drops. For extra warmth-factor we've sourced a cosy quilted cotton gauze fabric which will help keep the chill out.

Alongside the snuggly quilted gauze, we've also included a gorgeous cotton lawn in this kit to line the pockets and front panel. In her top tips video Lauren also demonstrates how get a beautiful finish on the inside by using the cotton lawn to create bias binding to neatly bind the seams. The skills you'll learn while working through these steps that are not included in the pattern will be useful for many more projects to come and really build your sewing confidence!

We hunted high and low for the perfect Pogonip fabric and are totally smitten with the one we found! This quilted cotton gauze fabric is soft, snuggly and super warm. The cotton gauze is on both sides of the fabric and sandwiched in the middle is fluffy wadding. The layers are stitched together using a classic quilting design, which gives the fabric texture and visual interest. One side of the embroidery has a slight sheen to it and we recommend you use this as the right side of the fabric so it catches the light nicely.

The gauze layers of the fabric are 100% cotton and the wadding is made from polyester.

The fabric for this kit comes in four colours: Cream, Rose Pink, Sage and Denim Blue

Also included in each kit is a 100% cotton lawn with an abstract floral print. The colours in the design compliment each of the quilted fabrics and we've included it for pocket lining as well as seam binding.

She shares her hints and tips on getting a really lovely finish on your garment including how to cut quilted fabric, how to make continuous bias binding, how to bind seams, how to sew welt pockets, how to install snaps and much more!

This video has over 42 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please file this safely for future reference.

Friday Pattern Company don't provide level indications for their patterns, but we'd rate this kit as suitable for an intermediate dressmaker.

Techniques include pattern matching fabric, sewing welt pockets, sewing binding, sewing a button placket and installing snap fasteners.

To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.

Fabric clips can be useful for holding together bulkier seams as well as a walking foot for your sewing machine, but these are not essential as the samples photographed were made without using them.

The Prym vario pliers or creative tool will also make applying the snaps to this fabric much easier.

If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.

Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.

We will aim to dispatch all kits as soon as possible after orders are placed and aim to have all kits shipped out by Friday 22nd November.

As Sewing Society kits are processed and shipped from a different location to the shop, we are unable to group together kit orders with past or subsequent orders or combine orders retrospectively. Please click here for the full g&g Sewing Society shipping terms.
