A gorgeous blouse with some added romantic details, this kit contains everything you need to make the Nepheline Blouse from Vivian Shao Chen!
The Nepheline Blouse is a breezy blouse which has some lovely details to set it apart a classic blouse.
Nepheline is fitted on the shoulders and loose through the body, with an a-line silhouette. The shaping can be easily slimmed down to your preference though - which Lauren discusses in her tips video - as we did on our white, black and ochre samples. The blouse length hits at hip height, allowing it to be worn untucked or tucked into high-waisted bottoms.
Nepheline's sleeves, while neatly fitted at the sleeve cap, are roomy through the arm with delicate gathers at the hem. Two tucks can be sewn into them which create texture and shape, as well as some subtle sleeve drama!
The collarless neckline has options for a high or scooped shape, which is finished with neat bias binding. In her accompanying video Lauren also discusses how to adjust the neckline to your preferred height, as we did on our green sample.
An extra special addition to this kit is the beautiful inset lace we've added. Lauren demonstrates in her video how to add this on-trend detail to your blouse, showing you how to adjust your pattern and then neatly sew it into place.
The simplicity of the blouse really showcases the gorgeous shaping and unique elements, making it a staple you'll want to wear every day!
This kit is available in four colours: white, black, ochre and forest green.
The fabric we've selected is a medium weight cotton which has a linen-like texture. It has a voluminous drape and really helps to hold the shape of the blouse, especially the pleats on the sleeves. It is 100% cotton.
The lace included in each kit is in a colour to compliment the main fabric and has a dainty repeating design. The lace is 100% cotton
