Gladys Blouse Kit

A floaty, pretty blouse that will make you feel ready for any party, December's kit contains everything you need to make the Fibre Mood Gladys Blouse!

The Gladys Blouse from Fibre Mood is your answer to 'what shall I wear?' this festive season. It's a delicate blouse that has a relaxed fit and plenty of pretty details.

Gladys has a v-neck cut with yokes at the front and back. A playful frill is gathered into these yoke seams and over the top of the armhole. If you want a little less drama though the frill can easily be shortened, reduced in height or simply omitted entirely!

The long, straight sleeves have plenty of ease and are gathered at the wrist into an elegant cuff. The cuff and blouse are then finished off with neat custom coloured shell buttons that have a cute flower design.

We've chosen a crinkled viscose for these kits which has great texture and movement. The solid colours really showcase the details of this design and let the pattern do the talking!

The kits contain enough fabric to make the blouse version of this pattern.

For this kit we've sourced a lightweight crinkle viscose crepe in three colours: Cherry Red, Petrol Blue and Seapine Green

This fabric has a gorgeous crinkled texture to it, which adds interest to the blouse, and is very light and floaty. The fabric is 100% viscose, meaning it is breathable and has great drape to it.

To pair with the fabric we've had dainty flower buttons produced by the Textile Garden that have been dyed to perfectly match with each colourway.

To see the fabrics close up check out the video in the main gallery above by swiping left.

This pattern is available in sizes: 4-32 (bust 30-57", hips 34-57").

Finished bust measurement for the garment ranges from 35" to 62.5".

  • A0 print out of the Gladys Blouse & Dress pattern from Fibre Mood. All sizes are included on the print out, as well as the pattern pieces for the dress version.
  • The PDF digital instruction booklet for the Gladys Blouse & Dress. This will be contained in your order confirmation email and will also be available to access when logged into the g&g website. Please note the digital A0 or A4 PDF pattern files for the Gladys Blouse & Dress are NOT included in this kit (this is due to Fibremood licensing restrictions).
  • Main fabric - as described above. Select from option above: 'Up to size 18' contains 2.2m of fabric and 'Up to size 32' contains 2.7m of fabric. This is enough to make the blouse view of the pattern.
  • 1 reel of matching Gutermann thread, shade 46 (red), 904 (blue) or 553 (green). If you don't have an overlocker and plan to use the same thread for finishing off seam allowances, we suggest you purchase an extra reel or use a similar shade left over from another project.
  • Interfacing: 0.1m lightweight woven interfacing
  • Buttons: 8 x 12mm shell buttons with a flower design, to match your fabric
  • Sewing Machine Needles: Prym Mixed Microtex Needles

A physical print out of the instruction booklet will NOT be included. You can view the instruction booklet on your device at home, print it out at home, or add the 'printed pattern instructions' product (see link below) to your order and we will print it for you.

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren’s exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.

She shares her hints and tips on getting a really lovely finish on your garment including how to work with crinkle viscose, how to adjust the pattern pieces to make the blouse view, how to sew the gathered frill and adjust it to your personal taste, how to sew the sleeve binding and cuff and much more!

The video has over 43 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please file this safely for future reference.

Fibre Mood rate the skill level for the Gladys Blouse as 2/5.

We'd rate this kit as suitable for an intermediate dressmaker as it contains details such as a bias bound neckline and sleeve cuffs and the lightweight fabric also adds challenge to this make. All of these elements are of course covered in Lauren's top tips video.

To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.

An overlocker is helpful for finishing the raw edges of the fabric, but a regular sewing machine can also be used for this.

You will need to lengthen the bodice pieces of the pattern to make the blouse - scrap paper from your pattern can be used for this or you can purchase pattern paper below.

If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product. Please note that a PDF copy of the digital A0 & A4 pattern files are not included in this kit - only the A0 print out. If you would like to make a copy of your pattern we recommend tracing it onto pattern paper - please see the listing below.

Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.

These kits are available for immediate dispatch.
