Elodie Dress Kit

A stunning, modern take on a classic wrap dress, in our beautiful Chicacheetah print, June's g&g Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the Closet Core Patterns Elodie Dress.

Romantic and flowy with multiple skirt and sleeve options, this gorgeous dress is perfect for special occasions as well as breezing about on hot summer days!

The softly flowing bodice has release pleats under the bust with a dolman style sleeve that can be made short, or longer for a more formal option.

The wrap panelled wrap skirt is swishy and voluminous with multiple length options.

We have included enough fabric for up to the midi style, but if you prefer a maxi length, then there is the option to purchase extra fabric - see the listing below for this.

Our super popular and exclusive to g&g 'Chicacheetah' print, designed by Rachel Parker, is back in 3 amazing BRAND NEW colour-ways!

This fabric is on a soft and fluid 100% viscose base cloth with a plain weave giving it a smooth matt finish. It drapes beautifully and swishes in the fullness of this dress.

Choose between Blue, Teal and Soft Pink colour-ways as pictured here. The dominant background colour is what distinguishes each colour-way and then they all have pops of multiple bright colours, inspired by the popular animal print trend.

Please note, we have included enough fabric to make up to the midi length of the dress in this kit, as modelled in the pictures. If you would prefer to make a maxi length then you can purchase extra fabric by adding the product linked at the bottom of the page.

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to a Lauren's exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.

She shares her hints and tips for getting a really lovely finish on your garment including cutting out slippery fabric, accurately applying interfacing, using Forming tape interfacing in the place of stay stitching, sewing neat pleats, sewing French seams, attaching the waist tie and creating the opening for the wrap around, how to hand sew a dainty thread chain belt loop and much more!

The video has over 25 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please please file this safely for future reference. You can also access the video links and PDF files when logged into the website.

This pattern is aimed at advanced beginner sewers.

The slippery viscose fabric does add a level of trickiness to this project and if you are still near the beginning of your dressmaking journey, it may be that you want to make a practise version in a more stable fabric like a cotton or linen based fabric first.

To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.

An Overlocker is useful for finishing off the seam allowances, but is not essential, the garment can easily be made completely on a regular sewing, and finished off neatly with optional French Seams, which is described in the top tips video.

If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.

Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.
