A trouser pattern that will help you feel both stylish and comfortable, this Sewing Society Kit includes everything you need to make the Eleonore Trousers from Jalie Patterns!
A trouser pattern that will help you feel both stylish and comfortable, this Sewing Society Kit includes everything you need to make the Eleonore Trousers from Jalie Patterns!
The Eleonore Trousers are the kind of pattern that can easily become your 'go-to' trouser. They are comfortable to wear, straightforward to sew and can easily be dressed up or down.
The Eleonore Trousers are a stretch pull-on trouser with a wide waistband that contains a cleverly sewn hidden elastic. They are mid rise and fitted through the waist and hips, then straight from the knee down.
The pattern is designed to have the look of jeans, whilst being much quicker to sew. At the front there's a faux fly, so no zip sewing is needed. The front pockets are also imitation, which gives a smoother look to the front of the trouser (though if you prefer a real pocket here, Jalie also have a separate pocket add-on pattern for Eleonore).
The Eleonore Trousers have a yoke on the back for shaping. They also have roomy patch pockets, which are the perfect place for displaying your 'me made' label - that handmade finishing touch!
For this kit we've chosen a stretch velvet fabric in three lovely colours: navy, tan and pink.
This cotton stretch velvet has a short pile, which gives the fabric a fairly matt appearance for a velvet, with just a subtle sheen. It is really soft and the added elastane means that the fabric has a great amount of stretch and recovery. This fabric is 98% cotton, 2% elastane.
To see the fabric close up check out the video in the main gallery above by swiping left.
This pattern is available in sizes Jalie sizes R - FF, approx. UK 4 - 28 (waist 27"-44", hips 36-53").
You will receive the pattern for ALL above sizes, but please select your kit size option based on your body measurements, as this will include the correct amount of fabric.
There are two kit size options for this kit:
Up to size 18 (AA): waist 27"-36", hips 36-45" (approx. UK 4 - 18).
Up to size 28 (FF): waist 27"-44", hips 36-53" (approx. UK 4 - 28).
The pattern sheet also includes children's sizes 2 - 13 years.

A physical print out of the instruction booklet will NOT be included. You can view the instruction booklet on your device at home, print it out at home, or add the 'printed pattern instructions' product (see link below) to your order and we will print it for you.
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren’s exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
She shares her hints and tips on getting a really lovely finish on your garment including how to work with stretch velvet, how to adjust the rise on the pattern, how to stabilise the pockets, how to sew the hidden elastic waistband and much more!
The video has over 28 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please file this safely for future reference.
Jalie Patterns don't provide a difficulty rating for this pattern, but we would rate the kit as being suitable for advanced beginners. The construction itself is straightforward and the stretch in the fabric aids with fitting. A little care needs to be taken with the nap of the velvet, but this is covered in Lauren's tips video.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.
