The g&g Christmas Window Display 2020

A festive display to inspire your next make

We're feeling all festive here this week at g&g as despite being closed to in-store customers due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in England, we installed our annual Christmas window display and its looking just lovely!

If you are local then while you are out for any essentials, take a stroll past to check it out. If not, then check out my latest Youtube video for a tour around. All the patterns and fabrics featured in the video and window display are linked below and to celebrate the window we are offering 10% off all our Christmas Fabric until midnight on Sunday 22nd November with the code GGXMAS.

Please note - depending on when you are reading this post, some of the patterns may be showing as out of stock. We have them on order and are expecting them very soon so please email [email protected] and we can notify you as soon as items are available again.

Check out my latest Youtube video for a full tour of the window!

Staying in and dressing up is the theme of our first mannequin. We know the festive season might not be quite as planned for a lot of people with parties postponed or even moving online! So if you have a Christmas zoom event to attend then why not dress up on top and keep in comfy below!?

We've paired the Crushed Ice Square Neck Top kit with some True Bias Hudson pants made with our red scandi snowflake fleece backed French Terry - they are so snuggly!

This cute and cosy outfit features two of the Poppy and Jazz kids range of patterns - the Strawberry Sweatshirt and and Birch trousers. We used our Happy Reindeer fabric in red which is a soft and snuggly fleece backed French terry fabric. We also used some of our off-white ribbing fabric for the neckline, which gives a lovely contrast.

Sophia (my 4 year old daughter) wanted one of her reindeer toys in the window too!

Our second mannequin features the scandi snowflake in blue fabric, sewn up in the Grainline Linden sweatshirt and True Bias Hudson pants. A perfect pairing for staying in and keeping cosy this festive season. Truebias also offer a male version of the Hudson pants as a pdf (available from their website in this link). Then you can also make use of our pdf pattern printing service to have the pattern printed full scale on A0 sheets.

I love the other details in the window. We've hung so many mini white pompoms - it really does look like its snowing! And the large scale paper snowflakes really just set it off beautifully!

On the tree we used wooden bobbin's painted white, some pretty crochet snowflakes and some silver sparkly star garlands.

It looks really pretty in the evening as well!
