Our January Window display

A fresh new display to start the year

We have freshened up our window display for the start of the year and in the post I wanted to give you a little tour around! We have themed to our g&g Sewing Society kits with lots of samples of all garments that have featured in past and current kits so there is lots of inspiration to be had!

We love designing and putting the kits together for you so that you can easily pair them together and mix and match for easy to wear, everyday handmade clothes that make you feel great and proud that you have made them yourself.

Check out my latest Youtube video for a tour around the window and the shop or read on for links to the patterns, kits and fabrics we have featured.

The Garments

Our first out fit features the Khaki Green Megan Nielsen Hovea kit with a True Bias Zoey Tank Top and the True Bias Emerson trousers.

We currently have a few remaining Hovea kits that include the amazing water repellant, pre quilted Mind the Maker fabric. The Zoey Top is made with the Meet Milk Derby Tencel Ribbed Jersey and we now have a big colour range of that fabric - you can have a snuggly layering top to go with every outfit!

The Emerson trousers are a classic and made in the Muted Olive Ramie fabric they are a great base for tops and blouses.

Here we have the Hovea in the bottle green colour way, this time finished off with bias binding rather than a collar. We paired it with the Helens Closet Ashton Top, which is a super versatile pattern! You can use lots of different fabrics with that pattern, but this version is made in a lovely silky viscose fabric for a lighter weight version.

On the bottom is the classic Closet Core Ginger jeans - the perfect base for any handmade outfit all year round!

Finally, we have the Calm Grey colourway of the Hovea kit paired with a True Bias Rio Ringer Tee. Another great core pattern to have in your repertoire, this version is made in the Mid stripe sage and white striped cotton jersey fabric. The trousers are the Merchant and Mills Eve trousers made in the grey sorona linen fabric. This is such a lovely fabric to wear as it has a slight stretch for extra comfort and it comes in a lovely range of colours.

The details

Jo always bring the window displayed together with lovely accessories and touches. We've got some of the Sewing Society kit boxes, more sample kits on the mini rail and our fun over sized haberdashery accessories!

I hope you have enjoyed having a little look around our lovely new window display! Our next one will be coming mid February and will be a full on spring extravaganza!
