Our flowery Spring Window Tour

April 2018

Spring has sprung in the g&g window! Jo, who designs all of our lovely window displays, has been busy making lots of beautiful felt flowers and sewing up gorgeous garments.

You can check out my latest Youtube vlog to see everything in a bit more detail or read on to find the links to the patterns and fabrics we used.

I love how bright and colourful this window is!

These lovely hoops adorned with lots of colourful felt flowers have been hung at different levels in the window to give some depth.

These cute little flower pots decorate the vintage Singer sewing machine.

We've got four gorgeous outfits in the window this time. My favourite is the Tilly and the Buttons Etta dress made using our Misty Blue triple crepe fabric. This fabric has a lovely weight to it, along with a bit of a stretch, making it perfect for this style of fitted garment.

This simple loose fitting dress is the Papercut Moana, which also has a top version too. We don't have the exact fabric left but the Robert Kaufman Brussels Washer Yarndyed fabric is a perfect alternative!

This next outfit combines the Simple Sleeveless top from my book and the skirt from the Sew Over It Rosie Dress pattern.

The gathers in the skirt are really pretty and I like how it's smoother at the centre front.

And the final lovely outfit uses the pink colour way of the Misty Blue triple crepe - Blush Pink Meadow. We've made it up using the Sew Over It shift dress and shortened the sleeves and I think it looks so pretty.

The final thing I wanted to show you is the beautiful Liberty fabric quilt we've had one display in the shop that I featured in the vlog (see above). It's made using the pinky/red colourway from the new range of quilting cottons. I can't claim the credit for this one, we've just had it one loan from the supplier, but its been a lovely addition to the shop and a lovely way to see the fabrics made up.

We've got a pattern for this one and for a square quilt too. The patterns are free when purchasing 1m or more of any of the Liberty quilting fabrics (see them all in this link).
