Lovely bright and fresh fabrics arrivals

January 2018

I'm so excited to show you a round of up lots of the new fabrics we have had in this month! It's usually a busy time of year with new fabric arrivals, but this year there seems to be so much more!

The best way to keep right up to date is by checking our Just Arrived section, but here is my first round up of 2018 in the vlog below. All the fabrics I mention are then linked in this post to make it even easier to find them.

I really hope it gives you lots of new inspiration and ideas!

First up are there gorgeous double gauze fabrics (pic above) that have a little square pattern repeat woven throughout them in 4 lovely shades. I like the lilac/pinky one the best and I thought they would be great for looser shirts or boxy tops.

The double gauze to the right is a bit finer with smaller squares more spaced out. It would be great for a shirt or tunic too!

These soft shaded Italian waffle cottons are similar in weight to the double gauzes above and have a sort of soft spongy texture. Again, they would be great for shirt, tops, tunics and dresses too! They aren't transparent at all and the 3D texture makes them feel a bit more substantial while still being light-medium weight.

These subtile spotty viscose linens (pictured above) have the most amazing drape and fluidity to them! They feel so soft and would be perfect for tops that have a looser design as the fabric will drape and fall into place so well. The Fancy Tiger Crafts Sailor Top (which we have just had into stock) would be great as the gathers around the neckline suit a soft fabric like this.

On the same base cloth is the little navy sail boat print and and on 100% viscose, and just as drapey, is this fun and colourful parrot print.

The next two delicate floral fabrics are also a linen viscose mix but they have more structure and body to them, so would be classed as a medium weight fabric. They would be great for skirts or spring/summer trousers.

The next set of fabrics all have a silky soft peachskin feel to them - especially the flamingo and anchor print below.

They all have a lot of drape and movement and would be great for swishy dresses!

These cotton pin stripes with cute embroidered whales and flamingos are a classic shirting type weight so would look great as that. Sophia is loving whales at the moment, in fact anything related to the sea, so I'm thinking of a little summer dress with a gathered skirt for her!

Sticking with stripes these classic yarn-dyed stripes feel so fresh and crisp. I've ear marked the blue one for a Closet Case Patterns Kalle tunic!

These next stripes are making me feel so summery! The soft colour palettes are beautiful and they are really lovely and soft. I fancy making a Grainline Archer in one of them. I think they would also look really nice as a dress...maybe with alternating stripes so the bodice horizontally and the skirt vertically?!

Last but by not means least, as I know you lovely lot like stretch fabrics, are these pretty Art Gallery jerseys. They are cotton and more of a medium weight which makes them perfect for classic tees like the Tilly and the Buttons Agnes or the Grainline Lark Tee.

These fun space themed jerseys would be great for kids ware. My go to place for baby and kids pdfs is Brindille and Twing and they have lots of cute leggings, rompers and t-shirts that would be perfect!

Adding to our ever growing range of sweatshirt fabrics are these super soft and snuggly fleeceback fabrics. The colours are beautiful and the back feels so amazing - you'd never want to take a jumper made out of one of these off!

Thanks for sticking with me to the end everyone! I really hope you enjoyed seeing lots of the new fabrics and I'll be back again soon to share even more new fabric goodness with you!
