Learn to Sew - Launch Party in Pictures

I want to say a huge big massive - bigger than I can say in blog post – THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the launch day for my new sewing book, Learn to Sew with Lauren, last Saturday.

It was such an amazing and really lovely day!

I had set the studio up especially for the launch and has all the garments and projects from the book out on display as well as a gallery on the wall of all of the beautiful photographs form the book.

We had over 40 of you come along for one of the mini make and take workshops and so many lovely mini pin cushions and bows were made!

We had coffee and cake bar (with homemade lemonade too!) with my Mum helping to dish out the delicious cake!

I was wearing the Yoke Top from the book made in this embroidered cotton eyelet fabric and a Pick Your Pockets Skirt in a lovely yellow floral print.

It was so lovely to meet everyone that came along!

My very talented friend Emma, who's amazing fabric you'll spot in the book, came to say hi too! (You can check out her lovely fabrics in this link.)

I also want to say a special thanks to Matt from Octopus Publishing who took all of these photos on the day and did some filming too! A mini movie is on the way.....

In the evening all my friends and family came round to celebrate the book launch and have a bit of an early birthday party for me too. I was almost a month early for my actual birthday, but two separate parties so close together seemed a bit too much!

It was so lovely to see Tilly and Stuart too!

For the evening party I made a collarless version of the Have it Your Way Dress from the book, made with two layers- this beautiful embroidered organza on top and this dusky pink taffeta underneath. (Blog post coming soon on how I layered them up).

My little neice Holly managed to stay awake to join the party! She's too cute!

Ayaz made a really lovely little speech and there was so many people I had wanted to thank but I got too emotional and could hardly say a thing! Having your nearest and dearest all together in one room and feeling so grateful for having such an amazing bunch of people to help and support me was too much and I totally chocked up!

So thank you all so much again for coming along and buying the book and all the lovely compliments! Some of you have even left really lovely reviews on Amazon too, so thanks so much for that as well!

You guys can still get a signed copy of the book from the shop or come along to one of the tie-in workshops I'm running that have a copy of the book included - wowsa! The full list can be found here.
