Yates Coat

Originally released alongside the Sewing Society Kit in October 2019, this video contains Lauren's exclusive hints and tips for making a Grainline Patterns Yates Coat using woollen fabric.

This video is perfect if you already own a copy of the Yates sewing pattern and the supplies to make it but would like some helpful guidance on sewing it up!

This video doesn't replace the instructions that come with the pattern, instead Lauren shares her personal hints and tips that she finds useful to help you make a lovely garment.

In the 35 minute video she covers several aspects of the garment construction in detail including additional steps on how to block fuse your fabric with woven interfacing to give the coat more structure and longevity, how to add decorative top stitching and bar tacks at the in-seam pockets, how to make bias tape and use it to insert flat piping between the lining and facing and how to add a hanging loop.

Once you have placed your order, the video link will be included in your order confirmation email. The Yates Coat sewing pattern is available through our website (see below).
