A polished wardrobe staple, with classic tailored details, Octobers g&g Sewing Society kit includes everything you need to make the Closet Core Patterns Sasha Trousers in a comfortable stretch cotton.
A great addition to your handmade wardrobe, the Sasha trousers can be customised to your style and skill level. With a mid-rise contour waistband, fly front, slim fitting leg and comfortable stretch fit these are ‘wear everywhere’ trousers that can easily move from day to night!
Choose between a full or cropped leg length and pick and mix the back pocket welts, slashed opening front hip pockets and belt loops to make the project more or less detailed to your preference.
This is a great pattern for trying a fly front for the first time!
We have selected three colourways of comfortable stretch cotton fabric with a delicate scattered dash print: Ginger (ochre more yellow colour) with black scatters, Rust with black scatters and Ink with Ecru scatters.
It has a subtle sateen finish giving the fabric a smarter look and feel, which can still be easily dressed up or down.
This pattern is available in US sizes 0-20. All of these sizes are included in the kit regardless of what option you choose. The option affects only the amount of fabric you receive.
The waist measurement range is 24" -39" and hip measurement range is 33" - 48".
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Laurens exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions. She shares her hints and tips for getting a lovely finish including making a welt pocket, sewing and inserting a fly zip, an alternative way to finish of the inside waistband, attaching a hook and bar and much more!
The video has over 35 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please please file this safely for future reference.
This project is suited to confident beginner to intermediate level dressmakers. If you are new to inserting a fly front, this is a good pattern to try it on as the instructions are nice and clear and you will see the process in detail in the top tips video as well.
The fabric is easy to work with and presses well. You can simplify the project by missing out the welt pockets or the slash open pockets at the front.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
An Overlocker is useful for finishing off the seam allowances but is not essential.
You will need a standard zip foot for your machine.
A hole punch and buttonhole cutter is useful for opening up the buttonhole, but is not essential.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
