Pepin Tote Bag kit
This is a classic, well proportioned tote bag with a shaped gusset, shoulder straps and handy internal and external pockets.

Customise the design and function of your new go-to bag with different pocket combinations, a zip closure, magnetic snap closure and twist lock closure. These high quality antique brass finish hardware elements will give your bag a fantastic finish!
We have paired up 3 fabric combinations using 14oz Organic Cotton Canvas Made in the UK by British Millerain. They are renowned for making top quality outerwear fabrics and this dense canvas has a very subtle dry wax finish applied to both sides of the fabric, making it water resistant and giving the fabric a stiffer handle, so it's perfect for bags! Choose between Olive Green, Rust Red and Classic Navy.
For the lining of the bag we have picked 3 gorgeous cotton prints from the Art Gallery ranges. These fabrics have the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification. They are lovely and soft with a high thread count making them great for a bag lining!
- The Pepin Tote Bag Pattern by Noodlehead* (The pattern will come as a high quality colour print out within your kit. It is a set of instructions with the dimensions of the fabric sections that need to be cut out. Please note, the PDF version of the pattern is not included).
- 0.5m of 14oz Organic Cotton Canvas from British Millerain
- 0.65m of Art Gallery 100% cotton fabric for the lining
- 0.5m of woven cotton iron-on interfacing
- 52cm YKK zip with co-ordinating tape colour to the main fabric
- 1.5m of co-ordinating cotton webbing for the handles
- 2x 100m Gutermann Sew All Thread, one matching the main fabric and one matching the lining
- Prym Sewing Machine Needles Prym Magnetic clasp closure
- Prym Twist Lock clasp closure
- Dots and cross pattern paper for making templates (if desired)
- Sew-in woven label - "Made by me with g&g"
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to a set of 2 of Laurens exclusive YouTube videos to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
The videos have over 40 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation. The key construction steps are covered, including how to insert and attach the hardware included in the kit (metal teeth zip, twist lock and magnetic snap) as well as ideas and inspiration on how to customise the pockets and overall get a slick finish using the fabrics included with the kit.

This is a great project for beginners who are building up their skills and trying new techniques for the first time as well as those with more experience who are looking for something a bit different!
To complete this project you'll need a basic sewing tools, find out what Lauren recommends in this article. You'll need a regular sewing machine. An Overlocker is useful but not essential.
