We have sourced the most amazing stretch denim for this project direct from the Cone Mills Factory. Their denim is renowned for it's superior quality and the stretch denim in particular for it's special 'S-gene' spandex - believed to be the best for comfort and recovery, making baggy knees a thing of the past!
The denim comes in a raw form and will naturally fade and develop character and wear in over time. For this reason some photographs have been included in the gallery of a pair of jeans, using this denim, that have been worn in through frequent wearing and washing over a 3.5 month period.

This pattern is aimed at the intermediate level. It's probably best if you have made trousers before, even simple ones that don't have a fly. There is a lot of help and support for making your own jeans so be confident and go for it!
To complete this project you'll need a basic sewing tools, find out what Lauren recommends in this article. You'll need a regular sewing machine. An Overlocker is useful but not essential.
