The Fringe pattern, designed for woven fabrics, has really lovely design details. Choose from a button up front bodice or a delicate notched neckline - both options pair perfectly with the gathered skirt section of the garment that has a smooth, curved hem line.
Opt for a top length or dress length with in seam pockets, and pick between an elbow sleeve with sleeve tab or shorter cuffed sleeve hem.
The fit of this dress is easily customisable with two cup sizes to choose between and an optional narrow belt or tie for more waist definition. Choose between two fabric length options below to customise the kit contents for what you need. All kits come with both dressmakers A/B and C/D cup size options printed as standard.
We have chosen a delicate animal inspired print on a soft and silky viscose fabric in 3 different colour-ways for this kit. It hangs and drapes beautifully in the looser design of this garment - perfect for breezy summer days or pairing with leggings on chillier ones.
This kit is available in sizes US 0-30 and two cup sizes; A/B and C/D.
- The A0 PDF digital file for the Chalk and Notch Fringe Dress and Top* (Size range: US 0-30 Bust 32" - 56" with a dressmakers A/B cup and C/D cup options) *The link to the PDF instruction booklet and PDF pattern files for all sizes will be contained in your order confirmation email. A0 file only, not the print at home file.
- A0 print out of the Chalk and Notch Fringe Dress and Top* All sizes and cup options will be included in the kit, printed out onto large A0 sheets at full size on our new lighter weight 60gsm pattern paper.
- Viscose Fabric - select from option below. The 'Up to US size 18' will contain 2.3m of fabric. The 'Up to US size 30' will contain 3m of fabric.
- 1 reel Matching Gutermann Sew All Thread
- Prym Sewing Machine Needles size 70
- Prym Forming Tape Interfacing
- 0.4m of light weight, non-woven iron on interfacing in either white or black to match your fabric.
- 5 metallic coated reversible shell buttons from The Textile Garden.

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to a Laurens exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
The video has over 30 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation. She shares her hints and tips for getting a lovely finish including sewing french seams for regular seams and when there is an in-seam pocket, getting even gathering stitches, getting a slick finish on the facing and much more!

This project is aimed at the 'intermediated' level and includes some trickier techniques such as button bands and cuffs.
To complete this project you'll need a basic sewing tools, find out what Lauren recommends in this article. You'll need a regular sewing machine. An Overlocker is useful but not essential.
