A simple, boxy blouse with classic tailored features, this Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the Merchant and Mills Ellsworth Blouse.
A simple, boxy blouse with classic tailored features, this Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the Merchant and Mills Ellsworth Blouse.
The Ellsworth Blouse is lovely and swingy, as well as super comfortable. With its loose fitting style, you can focus on the neat design details of the half, pop-over button placket, collar and collar stand, cuffs and faced hem with a side slit.
It looks chic in a soft floaty fabric, like the one we have chosen for the kit, as it drapes and hangs to skim the body. Layer it up with a snuggly vest or turtle neck top for Autumn or re-use the pattern in summer with a light weight linen or double gauze fabric.
For this kit we have chosen three Autumnal colourways of this modern terrazzo style print on a buttery soft 100% viscose fabric. Its floaty with lots of drape so hangs well in the looser style of this garment.
Choose from Black, Navy and Ochre for the dominant background colour. Each print featured dashes of other colours to add interest and texture to the print.
This pattern in this kit is UK Sizes 18-28 (Bust 42.5" - 55", Finished bust 65" - 78.75").
For UK Sizes 6-18 please see the separate kit product below.
To see the garment modelled on different body shapes please follow this link.
Please note that the style and aesthetic of this garment is loose and oversized. If you are falling between the UK 6-18 and UK 18-28 size range we suggest you look at the finished garment measurements.
For reference in the modelled images, Lauren sized down two sizes and shortened the front and back length by 5cm/2" of the navy and ochre colour-way. The black colourway has been made according to the body measurements, and is therefore more oversized.
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren's exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
She shares her hints and tips getting a really lovely finish on your garment including choosing a size and cutting out, sewing the placket, working with stretch interfacing on woven fabrics, making the collar and rounding it out (as an optional extra from the pattern instructions), sewing French seams with a side slit and much more.
The video has over 30 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please please file this safely for future reference. You can also access the video links and PDF files when logged into the website.
This pattern is aimed at intermediate sewists.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools. It is finished on the inside with French seams as standard.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.
