A separate PJ's bottoms and top set, the Carolyns boast a notched collar, curved hem and breast pocket with 3 sleeve options to choose from. The bottoms have a comfortable elasticated waist with pockets and a faux fly detailing.
Choose to optionally add contrasting flat piping for an elegant finish around the collar and cuffs. This project can test your skills if you desire, or pair things back and simplify the design by omitting the features you wish.
This kit includes a super soft brushed cotton/linen flannel in a muted denim blue with a pretty coordinated Liberty Tana Lawn fat quarter.
This kit is available in US sizes 0-20.
- The pdf digital file for the Closet Core Patterns Carolyn PJ's* (Size range: US 0-20 Full bust size 31" to 46") *The link to the pdf files for the instruction booklet will be contained in your confirmation email. The pdf files for the A0 version and A4 print at home version of the pattern will be emailed to you from Closet Core patterns themselves. Please allow up to 2 weeks for this to arrive. You will have everything you need to start the project in the kit anyway.
- A0 print out of the Closet Core Patterns Carolyn PJ's (View A and B)* View C (shorts version) is not included as a print out but will be contained in your pdf files. A physical print out of the instruction booklet will NOT be included. You can view the instruction booklet on your device at home, print it out at home, or add the 'printed pattern instructions' product to your order and we will print it for you.
- 3.9m OR 4.9m of fabric. This is enough to make version A or B. For US/American sizes 0-14 3.9m is enough. For US/American sizes 16-20 4.9m is enough.
- Prym Sewing Machine Needles
- 0.75m of light weight interfacing
- 2 x reels 100m Gutermann Sew All Thread
- 8 shell buttons (5 required for the pattern and 3 spare)
- 1.8m of 38mm wide black elastic for the waistband
- A fat quarter of liberty tana cotton lawn for making flat piping
- Sew-in woven label - "Made by me with g&g"
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Laurens exclusive YouTube video's to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
There are two separate videos, one covering how to make the PJ bottoms and one covering the PJ shirt. The videos cover the key construction steps including how to make continuous bias tape to make flat piping and how to then insert the flat piping neatly into the garment in various areas to create a beautiful detailed trim.

This project is aimed at intermediated sewers however you can omit the trickier features to make the construction slightly easier.
To complete this project you'll need a basic sewing tools, find out what Lauren recommends in this article. You'll need a regular sewing machine. An Overlocker is useful but not essential.
