Billie Sweatshirt Kit

The Billie Sweatshirt from Tilly and the buttons is the ultimate, classic, comfy sweatshirt with a relaxed shape, crew neckline and classic trim details.

Cool, casual and modern, Billie is an ultra-comfy sweatshirt that offers 3 different sleeve styles: keep it effortless with cuffed, straight full length or 3/4 length sleeves, or add some drama with on-trend balloon sleeves and deep cuffs.

Choose from 3 lovely colour options of GOTS certified Organic Cotton fleece-back, sweat-shirting fabric: Candy Pink, Soft Teal or Juicy Cherry.

All come with a contrasting black cotton ribbing fabric.

This pattern is available in two size ranges; UK 6-24 or UK 16-34.

  • A traditional paper copy of the Tilly and the Buttons Billie Sweatshirt pattern* (Size range: Bust/chest measurement 30" to 48") *Please note that this particular kit does NOT include a PDF version of the pattern. If you already own a copy of the Billie Pattern, you can opt to swop it for another TATB paper pattern that we stock. Please leave a note in the comments at checkout to tell us your preference. Subject to stock availability.
  • 2m of GOTS certified organic cotton sweat-shirting fabric with a fun splash print (this is enough for all sizes of the sweatshirt with balloon sleeves)
  • 0.6m of black cotton ribbing fabric for the neckband and cuffs
  • Prym Jersey Sewing Machine Needles
  • 2 x 100m Gutermann Sew All Thread, one matching the main fabric and one black
  • Sew-in woven label - "Made by me with g&g"

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Laurens exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.

The 31 minute video covers key construction steps including how to work with jersey fabric, how to work with ribbing fabric to neatly insert the neckband, how to alter the pattern to use the same fabric as the main body for the neckband and cuffs, how to sew gathering stitches.

This is a great project for confident beginners who are building up their skills and trying new techniques or fabrics for the first time as well as more experienced dressmakers who are looking for a quick make and a versatile addition to your handmade wardrobe.

To complete this project you'll need a basic sewing tools, find out what Lauren recommends in this article. You'll need a regular sewing machine. An Overlocker is useful but not essential.
