Welcome to our new website

I think you'll love it!

It's now been just over a week since our brand new website officially launched into the interwebs and things have settled into place nicely.

It's been months of hard work behind the scenes here at g&g since the site started getting built last year - and even longer talking about it before that!

With my own baby due pretty much any day, it feels good to have this one out in the world beforehand!

I'm so excited that it's finally here and I think you are going to love some of the new features!

I wanted to give you a little tour today so first up is our lovely new homepage where you can browse and catch up on news or new shop additions or workshops. This page will be changing regularly to reflect the seasons and what we are getting up to at g&g.

The 'Gallery' page is also where you can see lots of lovely images of what the shop looks like and what our window displays are if you live a bit too far away to visit!

The 'Just arrived' section of the shop was one of our most popular areas on the last site so I wanted to make sure it was easy to find. It means that those of you who already know what we offer can just check out what's new. Things will stay here for 3-4 weeks if you just want to know whats new.

If you are just generally browsing in the shop, anything that is new will be highlighted with this handy 'new' button.

Narrow down your search for a fabric by using the drop down filters. These can be used individually or in combination depending on how specific you want to be.

We have also matched a colour of thread to all of our fabrics! The girls in the shop had lots of fun doing this and we hope it makes getting everything you need for your project even easier.

On each fabric page, we tell you the shade number you need and link to the Gutermann sew all thread page where you can select the one you need.

There is also a special 'Lauren Loves' button that highlights the fabrics that I love the most! Of course, I love all the fabric! - it's me who chooses it - but these are ones that I especially love and are usually either already stitched into garments for me or on the 'to sew' list!

You can also filter and search our large range of indie sewing patterns too! And once you find what you are looking for, we have added handy links to all of the correct notions and supplies you need for that project - no more confusion of the right type of elastic! We know there is a lot to choose from!

We've made the blog a bit easier to browse past content by shrinking posts to display thumbnails that you can then click on to see the full post.

We've added lots of new workshops to our calendar for Spring/Summer and now its really easy to select the type of workshop you'd like to do as well as just browse the whole range.

You can also read about our lovely team on the updated 'About Us' pages!

Lastly I want to give a special thanks to some amazing people who have helped to make this happen.

The team of web designers and developers at Supercool have done a tremendous job at not only designing and creating a lovely looking site, but also making it work behind the scenes for us. These new things are always a challenge and I'm so grateful to them for sticking with it and working so hard to make sure it's all right.

My team of g&g girls past and present who have helped to list all products (literally thousands) and patiently finished off long jobs - like matching all those thread colours!

The very lovely Victoria from Victorias Cottage Photography and Branding who has taken so many gorgeous photos that I can fill the site with.

And lastly I want to thank all my lovely customers as without you there would be no website! What started out as a little shop almost 3 years ago has grown into something more than I could have ever imagined and without the support from you over the years I wouldn't still be here today!

You guys are THE BEST!!
