Shop Opening Update - December 2012

As Christmas festivities commence I decided that it would be a good idea to update you all officially on what our current plans are for opening the bricks and mortar shop in Moseley.

If you have been following the blog, you will now how much building and renovation work we have been carrying out on the new shop premises. We are both completely new to renovations and it has been really hard to predict all work that we would actually have to do to the buildng. We knew it would be a big job, but we probably under estimaed just how big and how many hurdles there would be along the way.

The good news is we are getting closer and closer all the time. We have managed to get through some major stages which is really exciting as we start to see the building come back to life again. We've virtually had a whole new roof, all the Tudor paneling has been repaired where possible and replaced in parts and completely re-painted. The whole of the interior has been stripped and new insulation installed. We've had new floors, underfloor heating and brand new electrics throughout.

The frustrating news is, there are still some big hundles to get through.

Initially we were hoping to have all the major things done by November, then that got pushed to the beginning of December and now we've been realistic and have decided that instead of rushing things and opening when there are still so many things to do, that its best to delay the opening of the shop until the new year. I still can't be specific about a date, but as soon as I know I'll be spreading the word.

It's frustrating as I have been building up to opening for a while and I'm desperate to do it, but at the same time I want it to be right and look amazing so please bear with us and know that we are doing everything we can to make sure things go quickly and smoothly.

In the mean time, our online shop will continue to be open and of course all the regular renovation updates will continue feature on the blog.
