Renovations - Part Thirteen

Tick tock the clock doesn't stop...its been another busy week even though the weather's been bleak.

The ceiling in the first floor hall now goes all the way up to the apex of the roof.

After the roof was replaced we were just looking up at the felt underneath the tiles. Then all the big fat insulation boards were fitted between the rafters...then more insulation on top of that....

...and now its all been plastered and the horizontal beams you can see in the pictures above have been removed. The big A-frames are looking great. We just need to strip the old paint from the lower section of them. Plan is to leave them as exposed wood.

All the walls in that room have been boarded too and mostley plastered.

The other big thing ticked off this week was the new floor and landing getting put into the small wing section at the back of the shop building. All the joists needed replaced, but its nice and solid now! So of course it's been filled up with the big mama insulation boards...they take off so much room! Will be great once they get on the walls!

We've now lost the scaffolding at the left hand side of the building.......

The wall is looking a bit patchy at the moment, and it still needs painted in the lower section but compared to what it was before...anything would be an improvement! A huge section of the brick work was replaced. Trouble is, when you take out the really bad parts, the bits that looked ok suddenly look terrible! But the line had to be drawn somewhere.....we couldn't replace the whole wall! Feeling chuffed with how that side section of Tudor is looking though, and I still smile when I look at that new roof! It just makes the building feel more solid and protected!
