Our gorgeous, colourful new window display has definitely brightened things up here at g&g this week. Jo has done another amazing job filling our big bay window with joyful summer tones and garments.

This lovely pattern duo has been so popular this summer already. It's a fairly quick and simple sew and can easily be worn as separates as well as together.
For this version we have paired it with the Raspberry Viscose Linen Fabric, which does also come in a variety of other colours.
The top is pretty cropped but it can be easily lengthened with the shorten/lengthen line on the pattern, or by extending the length at the bottom hem where the elastic channel is. There is also the option to add ties at the front, or you can even wear it in reverse to have the high neckline at the front and the plunge V shape at the back.
This super summery caftan has a deep V-neckline and dolman style sleeves with an interesting waistline detail and waist ties.
For this version we have use the Embroidered Border Cotton Double Gauze fabric and made use of this delicate design at the bottom hem.
Jo made a US size 6 for mannequin and used 2m of fabric, cutting the skirt pieces out at 90 degrees to the selvedge to make use of the border feature. She found the waistline placket a bit tricky, so suggests it's best suited to more confident dressmakers.
This floaty gathered dress is like a beautiful tiered cake with all it's layers. There are several variations in this pattern and the sample here is the midi length, made in a US size 6.
We have chosen the Rust Sorona Linen fabric, which pairs nicely with the fullness of this style.
This classic summer wrap dress has narrow, adjustable straps and a slick straight shape. The binding of the straps and neckline extends into waist ties to give some definition at the waist. This sample has been made to a US size 8 in our Sunshine Viscose Linen fabric.
Filling the big expanse of the window, Jo has made lots of colourful fan style garlands with card and bias binding in different sizes.
And of course our fun, oversized haberdashery props to remind everyone that we are a sewing shop and not a clothing shop!
