Seeing all the new fabrics arrive into the shop is one of the most exciting things about having a fabric shop! With so many new and different fabrics available this season, it's a great time to get fresh ideas in inspiration and in this post I am sharing my round up of (most of the) new fabrics we have received over the past month. From super thick and warm fur backed fabrics to snuggly sweat shirtings and fleeces, comfy stretchy jerseys and Autumnal colours on swishy woven viscoses, there is something for all your project preferences.
See them up close in my latest Youtube Video below, its a great way to see the fabrics close up and get a great impression of their texture and drape - just what you need to buy online if coming into the shop it's possible for you.
These thicker, super warm fabrics are actually two layers of fabric in one. With a choice of a textured plaid or variated corduroy, the reverse of these fabrics is a lofty fluffy fur. These fabrics work great for jackets and gilets!
Make a 'cheats' knitted cardigan with these knitted fabrics. The Marl Knits have a looser open knitted weave and would be best suited to looser style cardigans or jumpers with positive ease (so where the finished garment is bigger than your actual body measurements).
All your snuggly sweater/jumper/hoodie/loungewear dreams can come true with these heavier weight sweat shirting fabrics that have a really soft fleecey back - the Apline ones even have a fur back!
These narrow rib knits feel very soft, are super stretchy and would make lovely tops and cardigans. The cotton rib knits have a bit more structure and weight to them so would hold the shape of a boat neck style top really well.
These super sparkly Lurex viscose jerseys are great if you are looking to make a fancier garment for the upcoming festive season!
The printed viscose jerseys and also nice and light weight with a lovely drape and would make a lovely and comfy jersey dress to layer up with over tights!
These new selection of prints are on a mix of plain weave base, crepe and twill weave. So many beautiful Autumnal shades and a nice mixture of floral and more abstract depending on your style preferences!
