Once you've stitched up your me-made Theas, you'll never want to take them off!

Please note: In this workshop, we'll focus on sewing a version of the trousers that omits the front pockets and welt pockets due to time constraints. However, you can always add patch pockets later at home for that extra flair!

About this workshop

So what are you waiting for? If you are new to sewing trousers, and want some guidance to help you to extend your me-made wardrobe into trousers...then look no further than this class.

This is a great workshop for trying a fly front for the first time! Once you've made your first pair in the class, make another pair at home.

Further Information

  • How to sew a fly front zip
  • How to make simple trouser fitting adjustments (depending on how extensive they are, your first pair might not be perfect but you will learn a lot for future trouser projects).
  • How to sew an interfaced, curved waistband
  • How to adjust the fit on the leg of the trouser

On the day, due to time restrictions you will sew up a version that omits the front pockets and welt pockets. Patch pockets can be added at the end if time allows or at home after the workshop.

Since this is a one-day class, we’ll keep a lively pace to make the most of our time together. The plan is to complete the zip fly by lunch, with the waistband and hemming set for the afternoon. Remember, everyone sews at their own speed, so if you're new to some techniques, you may have a few finishing touches to wrap up at home. Don’t worry—the tutor will ensure you feel confident and well-prepared to finish your trousers beautifully!
