If you have been looking to build up your handmade wardrobe, the Rio is the perfect basic style tee that is easy to wear and style in so many ways. Pair it with a fancy, swishy summer skirt, layer it up underneath your dungarees or keep it classic with a pair of jeans and a cardy, the Rio is one that you will want to make again and again in all the colours!
This ringer style t-shirt has a semi-fitted cut that fits around the bust and skims the waist and hips. The ribbing around the crew neckline and short sleeves give it a slightly retro feel. Keep it simple or switch up with ribbing colours for a traditional ringer style.
We have paired a classic crisp white organic cotton jersey with matching ribbing along with an Oeko-Tex certified blue and off white mid stripe jersey for this kit. These jerseys are lovely and soft and super comfy to wear.
The crisp white would also be a perfect base for making a slogan tee or trying out some dying techniques.
Choose between two fabric length options below and let us know what size range of the pattern you would prefer to customise the kit contents for what you need.
This pattern size range is from US 0-30. Within this range there are two sub ranges: the B-cup is US 0-18 and the D-cup is US 14-30. If you are unsure about what dressmakers cup size you are, please check out this article and note that it is different to what bra size you might wear.

- A0 print out of the True Bias Rio Ringer T-shirt and dress in your chosen size range* Choose between the 0-18 B Cup size range OR the 14-30 D Cup size range from the drop down menu below.
- Jersey Fabric - select from option below. The 'Up to US size 24' will contain 1.3m of striped fabric, 1m of white fabric and 0.25m of white ribbing fabric. The 'Up to US size 30' will contain 1.9m of striped fabric, 1.7m of white fabric and 0.25m of ribbing. These quantities are based on the requirements for the t-shirt version.

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to a Laurens exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions. She shares her hints and tips for getting a lovely finish including how to stretch out and sew the neckband on without drag lines, how to cut out striped fabric and match stripes, how to work with ribbing fabric, how to use the same fabric as the main fabric for the neckband and sleeve hems and how to deal with jersey fabric that rolls and curls.
The video has over 30 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

This pattern is aimed at an 'Advanced Beginner'. The neckband is the trickiest part but as long as you follow the tips in the video and use plenty pins you'll be fine!

You'll need a sewing machine that can sew with either a stretch stitch or zig zag stitch. An Overlocker is useful but not essential.
