Get set for a cosy Autumn/Winter season, this Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the stylish and comfy Closet Core Plateau Joggers.
The Plateau Joggers are an elevated take on classic knit jogging pants. With a high rise, unique wrap-around pockets and a comfy elastic waist, they are ideal for cosy lounging at home or getting jobs done when you are out and about.
Choose between a relaxed fitting pant with an optional drawstring waist and two choices of ankle finish: a fabric cuff or gathered elastic hem, or a pair of shorts with a gently scalloped hem. Optional back pockets can be added to either a full length or shorts length.
The waist drawstring channel can be finished off with simple buttonholes using your sewing machine or you can opt to insert eyelets*. Add in top stitching on the waistband for a sporty look or keep it simple with the classic smoother waistband.
*The eyelets are optional, and can be purchased in addition to your kit by adding the eyelet product linked at the bottom of this listing. Applying the eyelets is demonstrated in the accompanying top tips video and can be made easier by using the Prym Vario Pliers - also linked below.
We have 4 gorgeous hues of snuggly recycled cotton fleeceback sweatshirting fabric to choose from: Teal, Plum, Pink and Denim Blue.
The fabric has a lovely marled effect giving the fabric depth and texture rather that a flat colour.
The composition of each of the three fabrics is 62% Recycled Cotton, 33% polyester and 5% elastane.
This pattern comes in two size bands. The PDF files are split across the following size brackets.
US 0-20 ( Waist 24" - 39", Hip 33" - 48")
US 14-32 (Waist 35" - 53", Hip 45" - 63")
Included in the kit you get BOTH PDF files with ONE A0 print out.
The kits that have enough fabric for US Sizes 0-20 will have the US 0-20 print out.
The kits that have enough fabric for US Sizes 22-32 will have the US 14-32 print out.
If you fall in the size range of US 14, 16, 18 or 20 then we suggest you purchase the kit for US sizes 0-20.
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren's exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
She shares her hints and tips getting a really lovely finish on your garment including sewing the unique pocket construction accurately with bulkier fabric, positioning the back pockets for optimum placement, inserting eyelets into the waistband and positioning, sewing buttonholes correctly for the waistline drawstring and hand sewing a coloured thread stop on your cord.
The video has over 30 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please please file this safely for future reference. You can also access the video links and PDF files when logged into the website.
This pattern is aimed at advanced beginner sewers.
Prior experience sewing with knits/stretchy fabric is recommended as the pocket construction is a little bit fiddly to get your head around first time.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
This project can easily be completed on a regular sewing machine using a stretch stitch or zig zag stitch.
An overlocker is optional but as the fabric does not fray it is not essential to finish off the seam allowances anyway.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.
This kit is available for immediate dispatch.
