Lauren's Playdate Blouse in Antique Paisley Lurex Stripe Viscose
There’s something so lovely about a blouse with a little extra detail, and my Playdate Blouse is a perfect example! I’ve made a few changes to the original pattern to create a softer, more romantic look, with a pretty ruffle around the neckline instead of the traditional collar!
The Matchy Matchy Playdate Blouse is a great starting point for experimenting with your own style, and I love how a few thoughtful adjustments can make a pattern feel completely different. The Antique Paisley Lurex Stripe Viscose has a beautiful flowing drape, with an intricate paisley print and delicate lurex stripes that catch the light.

• Fabric choice: The soft drape of this viscose makes it a lovely choice for a blouse, allowing the shape and neckline details to fall beautifully. The paisley print has plenty of character, while the fine lurex stripes add a subtle glimmer.
• Styling tip: I’d wear this jeans for an easy everyday outfit, or pair it with a skirt for something a little dressier! The colours make it easy to wear with denim, warm neutrals and rich autumnal shades.
• Difficulty level: A lovely project for building your blouse-making skills, with the option to follow the original pattern or try my neckline modification for something a little different. Take your time with the viscose when cutting and sewing, as its fluid drape can make it a little more slippery to handle.
