Summer event round up

and winner of #gandgsummermake announced!

First of all I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has left lovely messages and comments on the blogs, pictures and Youtube videos of the mini summer capsule wardrobe series! It certainly seems like you enjoyed it and found it useful so I'm thrilled! If you are yet to catch up on any of the posts, there are links to the 4 parts at the bottom of this post.

I also want to say a huge thank you to the lovely ladies that came along to our event yesterday to get lots of inspiration for their next projects!

We had a lovely morning talking about different styles and patterns and Nicky from Look Chic image consultancy also joined us.

Claire (our lovely shop manager) also put together gorgeous colour palettes featuring our fabrics so you can see what fabrics tone together and would work as a great mini collection of garments. So all you lovely online readers don't miss out, here are the 3 collections!

Pastel parade

This is the colour palette I used for the mini capsule wardrobe clothes I made to feature on the blog.

The gorgeous soft pastels and a bit of an oriental influence with the detailed cotton lawn print are great for a fairer complexion.

Summer glow

The lovely warm palette with bolder colours like the mustard and raspberry has a more geometric vibe and is great for brunettes who like colour.

Blissful strokes

This palette is more natural and neutral with soft and delicate, easy to wear subtle prints that go with everything and suit everyone.

In the afternoon we had great fun practising tips and tricks for inserting jersey neckbands, top stitching and inserting fly fronts in our technique workshops.

You can check out my Youtube videos that are part of the summer capsule wardrobe series for lots of hints and tips too!

And finally I wanted to announce the winner of our online competition to win £30 fabric voucher to spend in the shop.

Congratulations Sarah (@sarahkingcole) who made this beautiful dress for her daughters end of primary school party using our Atelier Brunette Bye Bye birdie fabric! It's such a gorgeous dress!

Here are some of our other lovely entries!

How amazing are Sarahs (@sarahyjbj) matching t-shirts in our bear jersey?!

And I love the colour of Jess's (@jess.makes) cropped Kalle shirt.

Ruth (@drruthwalker) made this lovely t-shirt with liberty placket - such a nice touch!

Katys (@kt_t1) made a gorgeous t-shirt version of the bettine dress with our striped jersey - such great pattern matching too!

The Hawaiian romper Emma made for her daughter is sooo cute!

And I love Annas simple dress that shows off the birds on this cotton lawn beautifully!
