New Fabric Arrivals July

A burst of summer colour and fabric fun!

I've got a beautiful selection of super summery fabrics to share with you this month! If you are in summer dressmaking mode prepare for lots of inspiration! From designer collections to sweet stripy linens, whether you are making a simple top or blouse or a classic sun dress these fabrics are a dream to sew with and to wear!

Check them out in my latest Youtube video and scroll on to find all the fabrics I mention linked below. It's the easiest way to find something specific you have seen in the video but alternatively you can browse our very latest new arrivals in this link.

Nani Iro - Japanese Designer Collection

These amazing fabrics are like works of art on a fabric! In a mix of base clothes from cotton double gauze, organic cotton, cotton/silk mix and a linens, the designs and prints have beautiful colour combinations and details. Spot subtle metallic accents and vibrant colours! The texture of these luxurious fabrics is lovely and they are great for simple tops, blouses and dresses to let the designs really shine.

New Fibremood Summer Magazine

The latest edition of the Fibremood magazine has lots of summer projects from tops and jumpsuits to bags and swimsuits. This vibrant lime striped linen viscose featured in the magazine is light weight and soft with a textured stripe and it makes a lovely top or dress.

Viscose and Rayon Prints

These new Dashwood Rayon prints are really bold and colourful. With a soft feel and lots of drape they would make a gorgeous dress for a summer wedding. The lighter weight viscose prints and super soft and delicate and would be lovely as a summery top or blouse.

For something a bit different

These fabrics stand out for their more unique features. This delicate new scalloped leaf lace fabric would be lovely as a top and you could feature the selvedge edge as a frill on a collar, cuff or at a seam like a yoke or button band. Layer it up with the viscose silk mix plain fabric or opt for something more stable like our plain cotton voiles or lawns.

If you have any festivals or parties lined up over the coming weeks then I suggest you put the iridescent mermaid stretch sequin fabrics to the top of your to sew list. This mesmerising flip sequin fabric is so eye catching and it really reflects the light to show an array of colours.

Summer Linen Stripes

This candy coloured selection of linen fabrics are so bright and summery. They would make a gorgeous sun dress or over sized shirt for layering up on the beach or by the pool. The are a bit lighter in weight so probably a tad too fine for trousers unless it was for PJ's.

Linen/cotton mix fabrics

These cotton/linen mix fabrics have a bit more weight and structure to them, compared to the 100% linens above and would be lovely for a little pair of shorts, skirt or a dress.

I hope these fabric gems have sparked lots of ideas for you! Happy Summer Sewing!
