New Fabric Arrivals - January 2024

It's a super exciting time of year at g&g for new fabric arrivals as we start to see our Spring/Summer Fabric Collections arrive! It might still be a bit chilly outside but looking ahead to more spring like makes can really kick start your sew-jo for the year and I certainly have lots of amazing choices and inspiration for your dressmaking in this months fabric round up!

There have been so many new arrivals that I've picked out my favourites to share with you in my latest Youtube video, but don't forget to check back on the Just Arrived section regularly to see lots more new fabrics added each week!

Shopping online for dressmaking fabrics can feel like a daunting task but let me take out that uncertainty for you as I show you the fabrics close up and give you a real feel of for the texture and drape as well as lots of pattern and garment combinations!

Embroidered cottons

Nothing quite says 'sunny days ahead' as an embroidered cotton fabric and we have such a lovely selection of colourful choices this year! These fabrics are so tactile with their lovely texture and are perfect for simple tops, blouses and dresses!

Viscose linen mixes

These linen viscose mix fabrics have such gorgeous drape, especially the pinstripes and that's down to the higher viscose content in those fabrics. It makes them perfect for everything from jumpsuits to trousers and dresses!

Woven Dobbys and textured fabrics

These fabrics also all have really lovely a texture and depth to them as they are a more lighter weight, would be better suited to cute tops and blouses.

Delicious Double Gauze

Double gauze is such a lovely fabric to wear as its light weight and airy with a nice natural texture and bounce to it. Check out my blog post linked here for lots of tips on how to work with double gauze and which patterns work best with it.

Embroidered borders

Make a feature of these gorgeous embroidered fabrics by incorporating them as a hem on your garment! Perfect for skirts, dresses and beach cover ups!

Summer Stripes

We love a stripe all year round but especially in the summer and especially when they are as lovely as this selection! From vibrant colours or more subtle hues, there is a stripe for everyone whatever your preference is!

Viscose Prints

These stuning viscose prints are idea if you have a wedding or special occasion coming up that you fancy making a new dress for! With a mixture of different weaves included crepe, sateen and plain weave viscose, all of these fabrics have a gorgeous drape and movement to them.

Comfy Jerseys

If staying comfy in stretchy jersey fabric is still your top priority then this lovely new selection gives you lots of options!
