As the weather starts to warm up here in the UK and with longer sunnier days, it's an inspiring time to plan some dressmaking projects. Whatever your plans are, the gorgeous new fabric arrivals into the shop this past month, I'm sure will get the sewing ideas flowing.
In this weeks blog and video, I'm sharing a round up of all the new summery fabrics and ideas for what types of garments to make with them. See the fabrics close up and get a feel for how they move and drape - it's a great way to shop for fabric online if you are too far afield to visit our beautiful shop in person!

These beautiful new Atelier Brunette fabrics have now been added to our collection. From bright and vibrant abstract prints with pops of colour to the soft pastel shades of the new animal print, there is lots of choice! The viscose prints are perfect for swishy tops and elegant dresses. Use the cotton gauze for summer shirts and blouses.
Also new in the designer ranges we stock are two new (to us) Fabric Godmother prints and two vibrant fabrics that are featured in the latest summer issue of the Fibremood Magazine!
We have added some lush new colours to existing ranges of fabric that we carry, from sumptuous Smooth Drape Tencel Twill and ribbed jersey to printed linen and classic viscose linen.
Cotton is a lovely cooling fabric to wear in summer and with a mix of new prints and textured fabrics, there is a lovely selection of new fabrics for lots of garments from beach cover ups to tops and dresses!
We have added vibrant pops of colour to our double gauze range of fabrics - perfect for over sized shirts and floaty trousers. Or for something with a bit more structure the new vintage textured cotton fabric is great for dresses and lighter weight jumpsuits.
This is a super colourful explosion prints in our new viscose fabrics. These soft to the touch, plain weave viscoses are perfect for garments that have gathers or fullness as they drape and swish so beautifully!
These stunning textured brocade fabrics would make gorgeous smarter cropped jackets for any formal occasions, or dresses where you want the shape and structure of pleats or a puff sleeve to be supported and held in shape. They really are special and would make amazing garments!
