We've hit 20,000 Sewing Society kits!

Since launching our first Sewing Society kits back in 2019, the g&g team and I have been delighted to offer you so many kits to make gorgeous garments yourself at home. They have grown in popularity so much over the years and from building the kits myself we now have a dedicated roles within the team who just work on this kits!

This month sees us sell our 20,000th kit - a huge milestone! And what better way to mark the occasion than to throw a special event and release a brand new fabric range that I've designed in collaboration with Rachel Parker.

The NEW kits

The new 'Vintage Bauhaus' Fabric collection was launched as part of Octobers Sewing Society kits!

The ‘Bauhaus Segments’ and ‘Bauhaus Jigsaw’ prints showcase striking patterns inspired by the clean lines and distinct shapes of Bauhuas art. Bold geometric silhouettes combined with intricate elements in a muted colour palette allows you to make a gorgeous statement piece that pays homage to this design aesthetic in a modern way.

We paired these colourful prints with the gorgeous Deer and Doe Myosotis dress - the perfect partner for the drape and swish the fabric offers.

The ‘Bauhaus Slopes’ print, available in two colourways, sees colourway skiers zooming down the mountain, and over snow mounds. The snow white base gives you the classic snowy slope, while the ice blue gives an icy feel to this fun print.

This was paired with the Closet Core Jenna shirt - a classic for all handmade wardrobes!

Fabric by the metre

We are excited to also be able to offer this new collection of fabrics by the meter! *Please note this is a pre-sale fabric* We are expecting to receive the fabric the week beginning 11th November, and will aim to ship it out to you that week.

We also have two beautiful necklaces to compliment the fabric that I've designed in collaboration with Mimiquins, along with packs of woven sew in labels to add to your projects.

Demonstration stations in the studio

Part of our special event held in the studio above the shop was to really bring my top tips videos that come with every kit to life. We picked a selection of techniques and tips for attendees to have a go at from cover buttons and loop turners to stretch fix - everyone has lots of fun trying out new skills!

The Window display

Jo also really brought the fabric to life with a stunning window display featuring colourful shaped hanging garlands and the new fabrics!

It was such a joy to see so may of our wonderful customers and all their amazing handmade outfits featuring the kits - I feel so proud of all of you!
