As the days get longer here in the UK and the sunshine is bringing an air of Spring it's an inspiring time of year to plan new projects and get sewing. We have had a lovely selection of new fabrics into the shop this month and you can find my round up on them all in my latest Youtube video. It's a great way to see the fabrics up close and get a good sense of their texture and drape if you are shopping online.
All of the fabrics linked below are the ones I feature in the video, so if you are looking for something in particular featured there, this will be the easiest way to find it. Alternatively you can browse our just arrived section for all the very latest new arrivals.
This gorgeous range of 100% linen fabrics are more on the lighter weight side so best suited to tops, blouses, shirts and dresses rather than trousers/shorts/jumpsuits. As they a woven with a mix of white and coloured threads, as well as the linen giving a natural texture, they have a lovely two tone colour appearance as well.
A new summery selection of colours has now been added to this range of popular ginghams. They are two sided, with one side a mini check and the other a medium size check. It makes the fabric super versatile as you can use alternative sides to create contrast in your project.
These dobby chambray viscose fabrics have a few extra touches for what may seem like a fairly plain fabric. The subtle dobby spot woven into the fabric breaks up the colour and catches the light nicely, while the mix of white and blue threads that have woven the fabric give the two-toned chambray look. As they are viscose they are super soft with lots of drape, making them really versatile for projects from light weight trousers to jumpsuits, dresses and swishy tops.
The embroidered eyelet fans fabric have a pretty scalloped detail at the selvedge, which could easily be included in your project as a hem or even a gathered frill. Opt to line it with cotton voile or lawn or make a classic and basic vest top like the True Bias Ogden or Zoey to wear underneath.
This little selection of super summery fabrics are great for beach cover ups, cute tops or crisp shirts.
These beautiful checked Japanese Kokka fabrics are really lovely with lots of texture and details. They have a crinkle texture that has a lot of character, a sashiko style running stitch and lovely colour combinations, making them perfect for summer tops and blouses.
Our exclusive design continues to be popular and I have seen so many different types of garments pop up o social media. These fabrics are opaque and don't need lining so are super versatile and look stunning in dresses, skirts and tops.
These super soft and stretchy cotton jerseys are perfect for summery tees. Choose between wider stripes or super narrow ones for an everyday comfy garment you'll want in every colour!
We have re-stocked on this lovely selection of scalloped edge fold over elastic, perfect for turning your jersey scraps into pants/knickers/briefs using a pattern like the Tilly and the Buttons Iris or the Jennifer Lauren Handmade Nixie.
