Stay cool and comfortable this summer - this Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the True Bias Dani Trousers and Shorts.
The Dani Trousers & Shorts is an easy to wear pattern that has options for beginners and intermediate makers. A tapered leg trouser with just the right amount of ease to skim the body without clinging, Dani can be made full length, or you can opt for the shorts view for summer style.
All versions include elastic in the waistband which makes them super comfortable to wear! Dani can be finished with a full elastic waistband, which is a great option for beginners, or a zip fly with a flat fronted waistband can be added. The elasticated section of the waistband is topstitched down (no rolling waistbands here!) and the top is finished with a dainty 'paperbag' effect.
All views have pockets-a-plenty, with patch pockets on the back and sleek inseam pockets on the side. The trousers and shorts both have a cute cuff hem, which Lauren shows you how to secure in place with invisible stitches.
We've chosen one of our favourite fabrics for this kit, our gorgeous viscose linen. This breezy fabric is the ideal weight for summer trousers and shorts and is the perfect match for Dani!
We've chosen three classic colours of viscose linen for this kit which will easily tone into your wardrobe: ecru, ocean blue and moss green.
The fabric is part linen which is the perfect fibre for wearing in summer. This breathable fibre keeps you cool in the heat and gives that beautiful nubby texture that we love linen for.
The viscose content in the fabric provides a lovely soft drape, which makes the waist gathers hang softly. The fabric is 75% viscose, 25% linen.
To see the fabric close up check out the video in the main gallery above.
This pattern comes in two size bands. The PDF files are split across the following size brackets:
US sizes 0-18 (waist 26"-38", hip 38”-50.5”)
US sizes 14-32 (waist 34"-52", hip 43.5”-61.5”)
You will receive digital files for ALL sizes, but please select your kit size option above - this will include the corresponding print out.
If you'd like to see how the Dani Shorts & Trouser looks on many different bodies, check out the Instragram hashtags here and here.
A physical print out of the instruction booklet will NOT be included. You can view the instruction booklet on your device at home, print it out at home, or add the 'printed pattern instructions' product (see link below) to your order and we will print it for you.
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren's exclusive YouTube videos to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
She shares her hints and tips getting a really lovely finish on your garment including how to sew matching patch pockets, how to sew invisible side seam pockets, how to construct the fly, how to topstitch the waistband and much more!
The two videos have over 45 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The link to the videos will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please file this safely for future reference. You can also access the video links and PDF files when logged into the website.
True Bias rate the difficulty for views A & B (fly option) as intermediate and views C & D (no fly) as beginner.
The instructions that come with the pattern are very detailed and Lauren's top tips videos include lots of advice on the trickier elements of construction.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.
We will aim to dispatch all kits as soon as possible after orders are placed, and we aim to have all kits shipped out by Friday 21st July.
