I'll share my tips on constructing the lining, how and when to attach a woven label and how to make a hanging tab to sit at the inside collar.
In video 3, she'll explain and demonstrate who to make bound button holes in your coat including talking through the process of working out where to position them and what size to make the buttonhole, giving you transferable skills that you could use on another project. The final finishing hand stitching part of the bound buttonholes is covered in Part 4 of this series of videos.
In video 4, Lauren demonstrates how to bag out the lining through a hole made in the sleeve lining including how to attach the sleeve lining and outer coat for a neat finish on the machine that conceals the raw edges of the fabric. She'll also show how an alternative way to attach the outer and inner collar pieces by hand, how to do an under arm chain stitch to hold the lining in place, how to hand stitch the gap between the lining and the facing, how to finish off the bound buttonholes and how to sew on the buttons with a thread shank.
Lauren uses a variety of sewing tools during the video which are linked below. The main tool that will help give your project a great finish is a wooden clapper - this is highly recommended if you are making a wool coat!
