A classic shirt and a must have in your me-made wardrobe, this kit contains everything you need to make the Closet Core Jenna Shirt.
The Jenna Shirt is an classic shirt with a slouchy, over sized silhouette and all the polished elements you'd expect, along with the well thought-through details you get with a Closet Core pattern!
The bodice has a loose fit with a drop shoulder and long sleeve. This is finished with a traditional, satisfying to sew tower placket and a deep cuff. The neckline has a classic collar and collar stand, which are sewn with a really interesting construction technique that gives an excellent finish.
The back features a deep yoke with an optional delicate hanging loop. At the hem there's options for either a deeply curved and exaggerated hem, or a straight one that hits at the high hip. The longer length also features a hem gusset which adds a lovely detail to the shirt. Wear the longer shirt untucked over jeans, knotted at the waist or tucked in for a chic look. The cropped view pairs well with high-waisted bottoms but would also made a cute layering piece over delicate dresses.
Jenna is a menswear inspired shirt, but in the gorgeous Vintage Bauhaus viscose crepe fabrics the shirt has a real feminine edge. Lauren has designed these limited edition fabrics in collaboration with Rachel Parker and they are buttery soft, giving the shirt a real elegance and luxury.
The Jenna shirt is garment that will quickly become a special item in your wardrobe, but you'll want to make over and over in all the fabrics!
The kits include enough fabric to make either the cropped or longer shirt.
Our exclusive Bauhaus Slopes viscose was created by Lauren in collaboration with surface pattern designer Rachel Parker and is a part of the first instalment of our brand new and exclusive Vintage Bauhaus Fabric collection!
The ‘Bauhaus Skiers’ print is available in ice blue and snow white and sees skiers zooming down the mountain, and over snow mounds, giving a classic snowy slope scene!
The design is printed onto a subtly textured 100% viscose crepe. It has a super soft and silky handle and ever so slightly textured surface. This gives the fabric a gentle and luxurious sheen that catches the light, bringing the print to life. At 108gsm, its weight gives a really elegant feel to the shirt and helps to showcase the pattern's details.
Each kit also includes a length of plain weave cream viscose for lining the inner yoke of the shirt.
This pattern is available in sizes XXS - 4X (approx. UK 6 - 34). All sizes are included on the pattern print out.
There are two kit size options for this kit:
Up to XL: Bust 31-45”, waist 24-38” and hip 33-47"
Up to 4X: Bust 31-60”, waist 24-53” and hip 33-62"
The full size charts, including finished measurements, can be viewed in the gallery above.
As this is an oversized style, you may want to size down for a closer fit. The longer samples were made to the models' measurements but both of the cropped samples were sized down by one size.

She shares her hints and tips on getting a really lovely finish on your garment including how to sew the collar, how to sew the tower plackets, how to sew a French seam with the side split, how to sew a baby hem and much more!
Also included in this kit is an additional video with lots of advice on working with the Bauhaus Crepe Fabric, from cutting and sewing it, to hemming and caring for your finished garment. These tips will really increase your knowledge and confidence of sewing with viscose fabric in general when you come to work with this type of fabric in future projects.
The two videos have over an hour of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The links to the videos will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please file this safely for future reference.
Closet Core rate the difficulty level of this pattern as suitable for an intermediate dressmaker.
Techniques include sewing a collar and stand, sewing tower plackets, sewing the yoke using the burrito method and sewing cuffs. The lightweight fabric adds an extra technical element to this make, though lots of advice on working with this fabric is included in Lauren's additional video.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
We also recommend ensuring that you have sharp and/or fine pins, like the ones linked below as this type of fabric can snag easily with blunt pins and needles.
