Durban Jumpsuit Kit sizes 14-34

The perfect outfit for all seasons, March's Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the Megan Nielsen Durban Jumpsuit.

Durban is a mix and match jumpsuit pattern with lots of options to make your perfect one-piece. Choose from a V neck or round neckline; patch or inseam pockets; and tapered or wide leg cuts. You can also add interest by adding the optional belt and belt loops.

A whole outfit in one, the Durban jumpsuit is the key to effortless style. Wear it by itself or layer it over t-shirts and roll-necks in the cooler months. Or make the short romper version for summer!

For this kit we've chosen a lovely soft tencel denim which makes the jumpsuit easy to wear and means the fabric is simple to coordinate with. The tencel content of the denim adds a really luxurious feel to this fabric and gives it extra drape and movement. It also has a small amount of stretch to it giving a nice bit of added comfort. New to Tencel fibres? Check out this blog post explaining more information about it.

To get a great fit on your jumpsuit, Megan Nielsen's instructions include guidance on how to take measurements to ensure the body length is correct for you. Perfect if you're new to jumpsuit making!

We have included enough fabric in this kit to make the sleeveless views of the jumpsuit. If you would like to make the versions with sleeves then there is the option to purchase extra fabric - see the listing below for this.

For this kit we've chosen a beautifully soft 10.4oz stretch denim, which is on the lighter side of mid-weight. It's available in two colours: light blue and mid blue.

To pair with each colour we've chosen two shades of metal buttons, from The Textile Garden.

Tencel is a more sustainable fibre as it is produced from eucalyptus trees, which are quick growing and need minimal pesticides. The fibres are extracted using a unique closed loop system which recovers and reuses the solvents used, minimising the environmental impact of production when compared to traditional production methods.

The fabric has a small elastane content, giving it 20% stretch across the cross grain and making it super comfy!

The composition of the fabric is 66% tencel, 23% polyester, 10% viscose, 1% elastane.

This pattern is available in sizes 14-34.

The bust measurement range is 40" - 60".

This kit is also available in Megan Nielsen's 0-20 size range, which you can find here.

*If you would like to make the jumpsuit with sleeves then additional fabric can be purchased separately - please see the listing below. For the size 14-34 sleeve you will need 80cm of fabric.

Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren's exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.

She shares her hints and tips for getting a great finish on your jumpsuit, including how to finish the facings, how to sew inseam pockets, how to sew matching patch pockets, how to attach the placket, how to position the buttonholes and much more!

The video has over 36 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please please file this safely for future reference. You can also access the video links and PDF files when logged into the website.

This pattern is rated as 3/5 by Megan Nielsen.

We'd class it as an intermediate pattern, due to the button placket and the fact it is a more involved make, but Lauren's top tips videos help to make the construction as straightforward as possible and it comes together surprisingly quickly.

To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.

An overlocker is useful for for finishing off the seam allowances. If you don't have one and are doing this on the sewing machine instead, you may need additional thread.

A Tailors Ham is useful for pressing the armhole facing.

If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.

Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.

This kit is available for immediate dispatch.
