A classic shirt, with classic features in gorgeous fabrics, this Sewing Society Kit contains everything you need to make the Archer Shirt from Grainline Studios.
The Archer Shirt from Grainline Studios is a truly classic shirt with all the essential details. The shirt has slightly dropped shoulders and features a traditional collar with collar stand, sleeve placket and cuffs, back yoke with pleat and optional front pockets.
The loose fit of the Archer makes it really versatile. Wear it tucked in with trousers for a smarter look, or open over a t-shirt for something more casual. A great layering piece for all year round!
The two different base cloths options for the kit (available in three colour choices) give a totally different look to the shirt. Opt for the lightweight denim with fun pops of colour in the embroidered dots or go for more texture with our luxuriously soft needlecord. All kits include perfectly colour matched metal buttons from The Textile Garden.
In her hints and tips video Lauren talks you through some customising ideas for the shirt, including bonus instructions on how to add a ruffle to your Archer for a completely different look.
We have chosen three different fabrics for these kits, which are all 100% cotton.
The lightweight embroidered denim is available in two colours: dark denim and light denim. This 4.5oz fabric is embroidered throughout with multicolour dots that add texture and colour to the fabric. It has a lovely soft feel and presses beautifully.
The lightweight needlecord fabric is available in a rich maroon colour. This beautifully soft fabric has fine wales and feels lovely to wear.
The buttons included in the kits have been custom made and are a perfect colour match for each fabric.
A physical print out of the instruction booklet will NOT be included. You can view the instruction booklet on your device at home, print it out at home, or add the 'printed pattern instructions' product (see link below) to your order and we will print it for you.
Alongside the purchase of this kit you will receive access to Lauren's exclusive YouTube video to be used alongside the pattern instructions.
She shares her hints and tips for getting a great finish on your shirt, including how to work with corduroy fabric, adding ruffles to your shirt, how to sew the sleeve binding, an alternative method for sewing the collar, how to position buttons and much more!
The video has over 38 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.
The link to the video will be contained in your order confirmation email along with the pdf files, please please file this safely for future reference. You can also access the video links and PDF files when logged into the website.
This pattern is aimed at intermediate sewers, as it involves techniques such as sewing a collar and sleeve placket binding. Lauren's videos are packed with tips to make sewing these as straightforward as possible.
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
Your kit will be wrapped in tissue and beautifully presented in recyclable packaging.
