The Rose Raglan shirt is such a classic style with some extra special details. With an oversized fit and softly draped raglan sleeves, it also has a unique sleeve and yoke design that flows beautifully across the back, creating a silhouette that feels relaxed yet thoughtfully designed.

The easy shape gives it a modern, laid-back feel, but it’s the fabric you choose that really sets the tone. In the floral jacquard, it feels soft and floaty, with subtle depth and detail. In the traditional stripe, with an optional fun colour block version, it becomes a classic, crisp shirt style.

It’s one of those garments that can fit seamlessly into your wardrobe. Buttoned up, it feels polished and put together. Worn open over a vest or tee, it becomes relaxed and easy. Sleeves rolled and collar slightly open, it has that relaxed confidence.

As part of this Sewing Society kit, Lauren’s Top Tips video guides you through key stages of the make, including sewing flat felled seams for a beautifully clean finish inside and out. She also talks through alternative seam finishes if you’d prefer a simpler approach, and walks you step by step through the sleeve placket and collar construction, making this a really approachable introduction to shirtmaking techniques.

Whichever version you choose, the Rose Shirt strikes that lovely balance between comfort and structure. It’s a shirt that's easy to wear, ready to slip seamlessly into your everyday wardrobe.

Fabric

This kit is available in three colour options on two different base cloths: white floral jacquard, sky blue striped cotton and multi striped cotton.

The white floral jacquard fabric is a beautiful lightweight cotton fabric that we knew had to be included in a kit as soon as we saw it! It has an almost voile-like weight but with added texture and detail from the jacquard weave. This fabric is 100% cotton with a weight of 85 gsm - perfect for layering, especially as the weather warms up.

Our gorgeous blue and multi stripes are true classic shirt fabrics. Yarn dyed and finely woven, they give structure and a crisp hand to the shirts. They're also very satisfying to sew with! They are 100% cotton with a weight of 100gsm.

The multi kits contain three lengths of fabric - in pink, sky blue and navy - which you can use to create an on-trend colour-blocked shirt. Play around with the placement of your colours for a totally unique look!

To see the fabrics close up check out the video in the main gallery above.

The Rose Raglan shirt pattern included in the kit is yours to keep! Not only do you get the full sized A0 print out included in your kit box on delivery, you also have access to the PDF files for your future refernece, meaning you can remake the shirt in different fabrics and styles long after this kit is complete.

The Rose Raglan Shirt sewing pattern by Paradise Patterns is an oversized shirt pattern with a modern silhouette and thoughtful construction details. The distinctive raglan sleeve features an integrated yoke design, creating beautiful seam lines across the back and giving the shirt its relaxed, contemporary feel.

It includes multiple design options so you can customise your finished shirt. Choose between a classic two-piece collar or a convertible one-piece collar, a curved hem or straight banded hem, and pleated or wider sleeve variations.

The pattern provides detailed, step-by-step instructions to guide you through the construction process, including classic shirtmaking techniques. Whether you’re building confidence or refining your skills, it’s a pattern that rewards careful sewing and can be returned to again and again.
