The Seneca shirt is a fresh take on the classic shirt, with a casual, boxy fit and shorter length.
The shirt has a traditional two-piece collar with stand and a button-up front. The dropped shoulders and generous sleeves make it a relaxed piece that is also really comfy to wear.
In her top tips video Lauren shows you how to finish these sleeves with a deep hem, which can be rolled up to add different styling options to your shirt. She also demonstrates an alternative method for attaching the collar, to add more skills to your sewing tool-kit.
On the back of the shirt there’s a yoke, which is lined on the inside, and an elegant inverted pleat. This is finished off with a delicate hanging loop, another traditional element.
The fabrics we’ve sourced for this kit really make this design shine, with on trend colours giving a different take on the floral shirt. In her accompanying video Lauren provides lots of information on working with both striped and embellished fabrics, to make your shirt as breezy to sew as it will be to wear!

This kit is available in three lovely fabrics: Striped Neon Flowers, Striped Blue Flowers and White Neon Flowers
The two Neon Flower fabrics have bright flower designs stitched across the fabric, giving a modern twist to the classic shirt. The Stripe Blue Flower fabric is embellished with cute laser cut flowers which add texture to the cloth.
All of these fabrics have a 100% cotton base which makes them a delight to press and sew with. It also gives them the natural breathability which comes with cotton fabrics.
In the White Neon Flower fabric kits we’ve also included a length of plain white cotton voile which can be used on the inner yoke, collar and stand - this helps to prevent the shadow of flowers underneath being seen on the right side of the fabric.
