Olya is a stylish and comfortable shirt that has a relaxed, effortlessly chic look. It has a loose, boxy fit which drapes gracefully over the body and looks great both tucked in or open and loose.
This oversized shirt has all the classic details you'd expect; a collar with a stand, sleeve plackets, cuffs, a button placket, a back yoke with a pleat and a curved hem. However, Olya is not your average shirt! It features lots of interesting style lines which really elevate this design.
The front yoke and sleeve are cut as one piece, so there's no armhole visible at the front. This means the stripes on the fabrics we've chosen flow in a smooth line across the body and down the arm. Hidden in this front yoke seam are two cleverly constructed chest pockets. Sew these as the patten intends or, as we've done for our red sample, leave them off for a speedier make!
On the back of the shirt the traditional yoke creates a crisp right angle where it joins onto the front - yet another of Olya's unique features.

For this kit we've chosen two breathable fabric bases in four colours. Super soft yarn-dyed striped viscose in red, charcoal and blue as well as a beautiful, crisp white cotton.
The striped viscose adds a real elegance to this pattern. The lightweight fabric has a soft drape which means the shirt hangs delicately on the body. The coloured stripes are slightly muted and coordinate well with many other colours. This fabric is 100% viscose.
The white cotton we've chosen has a slightly crisper hand which gives a more traditional look to the shirt. This gorgeous fabric has dainty woven stripes running through it, which are punctuated with soft dobby spots. This fabric is 100% cotton.
