With its relaxed fit, the Karine Cardigan is the perfect layering piece for the changing seasons. Featuring raglan sleeves and a v-neck opening, it’s a cardi that you can easily throw on over most outfits, whether you’re off to a yoga class, having a coffee with friends or just lounging round the house!
Karine comes with two length options; the longer hip length view has a looser fit through the body and the cropped view tapers in slightly at the waist for a more fitted look. The front edge is finished with a wide band and we’ve sourced some gorgeous shell chip buttons for this that pair beautifully with the soft, snuggly fabric.
The full length sleeves are great for cooler weather and in her Top Tips video Lauren shows you how to draft cuffs to finish these off, for an alternative finish.
There’s the option to add patch pockets to the front of the cardigan and in her accompanying video Lauren demonstrates how to position these on using Stretchfix for a really neat finish. We’ve also included Stretchfix to use on the bottom of the cardigan for super easy hemming! Yay!

This kit is available in three colours: blue, pink and mushroom
The fabric we’ve chosen for this kit is the ideal cosy cardigan fabric, our Viscose Blend Ribbed Knit. This fabric is incredibly soft with a fine linear rib running through it. Its ribbed knitted construction gives the fabric a good amount of stretch, whilst it also has good recovery. It has a weight of 290 g/m², making it lovely and warm and is made of 50% viscose, 28% polyester and 22% polyamide.
To see the fabrics close up check out the video in the main gallery above.

The size range for this pattern is: US 4-36

Jalie don’t provide a skill level for this pattern, but we’d rate it as suitable for intermediate level makers who have worked with knit fabrics before.
Techniques include working with drapey knits, sewing patch pockets on knit fabric, working with a small seam allowance and sewing cuffs.

To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools. Fabric clips can be also useful for holding together bulkier seams.
If you would like a printed copy of the instructions sent out with your kit, in addition to the PDF copy that you will receive, please see the related products below and add it to your cart as a separate product.
