The Avery Leggings are one of those 'wear them everywhere' makes. They are classic, comfy and surprisingly simple to put together. At first glance they look like everyday leggings, but they include some thoughtful little features to enhance your make.
The Averys are designed with no outer leg seam which gives a beautifully smooth and uninterrupted look down the leg. They also include a clever crotch gusset that helps the leggings move naturally with your body. This improves the fit, adds comfort and makes them perfect for everything from gentle stretching to relaxed days at home.
The double layer waistband is a real highlight. It has stabilised elastic hidden neatly inside which gives gentle tummy support and keeps the leggings sitting comfortably in place throughout the day. You can choose between a mid rise waist or an ultra high rise for even more comfort. There are also two leg lengths so you can create your ideal fit.
To make your Averys feel truly luxurious this kit includes our beautiful low pill micro modal jersey. It is silky soft, breathable and has fantastic stretch and recovery helping your leggings stay smooth and lovely for years to come.

The fabric for this kit is a duo of two colours: midnight navy and black. Each kit includes a pair of these fabrics allowing you to make two lovely pairs of leggings!
This micro modal jersey fabric has been knitted and dyed in the UK for us here at g&g. It's been specially selected for its qualities of amazing smoothness, thickness and low pilling.
Made from 92% modal and 8% elastane it's super stretchy for extra comfort. Its weight is 280gsm giving great coverage over your knees and derrière. The way the fibre has been twisted means the fabric does not pill easily, leaving your leggings looking smooth and slick for many washes and wears to come!
The full size range of this pattern is US0/2 up to US 32/34. This is a waist measurement range of 24" - 52" and hip measurement range of 33"- 62".
All options of the kit will have the same pattern print out and files containing all sizes but if you are making a size 24 or above, select the 'up to sizes 34' option to ensure you have enough fabric.

She shares her hints and tips for getting a lovely finish including how to cut out jersey fabric straight, how to sew jersey on a regular sewing machine, how to get a neat clean finish on the waistband of your leggings and much more!
The video has over 25 minutes of footage, sectioned out with time stamps/chapters for easy reference and navigation.

This pattern is aimed at an advanced beginner.
It is simple to construct and can easily be completed on a regular sewing machine using a stretch and zig zag stitch. If you are new to stretchy jersey fabrics and have some confidence in sewing you'll be fine with this project!
To complete this project successfully you'll need a regular sewing machine along with Lauren's essential recommended sewing tools.
An Overlocker is useful for finishing off the seam allowances, but is not essential, the garment can easily be made completely on a regular sewing machine using a stretch stitch.
