Sew the Greek Collection Your Way | Sewing Street Replay

It was such a joy to spend the second hour on Sewing Street sharing our new Greek-inspired collection. From the new Thora pattern to some of my favourite summer garment patterns, I wanted to show just how versatile these exclusive fabrics can be.

If you missed the show, or you'd like to watch it again, you can catch the replay below.

Meet The Thora Top & Dress

The star of this collection is, of course, the new G&G Thora Top & Dress. Designed to be easy to wear whilst still featuring thoughtful details, Thora is the perfect partner for these beautiful Greek-inspired fabrics.

I shared lots of the new Thora kits during the show, chatting through the different fabric options and how each one gives the pattern its own unique feel. From the delicate embroidered linens to the soft drapey prints, there's a version to suit every style.

SHOP THE THORA TOP & DRESS:

So Many Possibilities

One of my favourite things about designing fabrics is seeing how they come to life in completely different garments.

Bougainvillea Island

The Bougainvillea Island print was transformed into both the Fran Shorts and the Darling Ranges Dress, while Pink Ariadne appeared in the easy-to-wear Fran Shorts, the beautiful Darling Ranges Dress and the Anna Allen Demeter Top.

Goddess Power

I also shared the Goddess Power Fran Trousers, showing how these exclusive prints work just as beautifully in separates as they do in dresses.

Delphi Tiles

The Delphi Tiles fabric was shown as the relaxed Fran Trousers, the elegant Ogden Cami and the contemporary Matchy Matchy Peplum Split Tank, proving how one print can create a completely different look depending on the pattern you choose.

Pink Ariadne

The twists and turns of this labyrinth like design is named after Ariadne, The Greek Goddess who helped Theseus escape the maze by giving him a thread so he could retrace his steps. This story has been interpreted as a metaphor for finding hope and purpose in difficult times.

This colour way features a vibrant soft rose pink geometric pattern on an off-white base, with a painterly quality to it, giving the design variation and added interest.

Building Your Summer Wardrobe

One of the things I love most about this collection is how easily the fabrics can become part of your handmade wardrobe.

A printed pair of trousers with a simple linen top. A relaxed Thora worn with your favourite shorts. An easy summer dress that needs little more than sandals. These are the kinds of garments that become the hardest-working pieces in your wardrobe because they mix and match so effortlessly with the clothes you already own.

I hope seeing so many different patterns made up in the collection has inspired you to think beyond just one project and imagine all the different ways these fabrics could become part of your own summer wardrobe.
