The online sewing community has really connected so many people as its grown over the years and this Saturday we saw that come to life in the 5th year of the 'Sew Brum' meet up!
It's free to attend, open to everyone who loves sewing and fabric, and a great chance to meet up with friends you might have made online in the sewing world. It was all started by Charlotte from the blog, An English Girl at Home back in 2013. The days starts in Birmingham city centre were stitchers from all over the country meet up in the John Lewis cafe, they then head out to the city centre fabric shops and markets.
Then in the afternoon everyone heads out to Moseley at hangs out in the studio at the shop. We have a fabric and pattern swop and g&g puts on tea/coffee and cake for everyone too.
We hold a sewing themed charity raffle and this year we were raising money for the charity Coppafeel who do amazing work with all ages, women and men, to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage everyone to regularly be checking themselves. We raised £915 on Saturday from the raffle and donations for tea, coffee and cake so thank you so much to everyone who took part and donated.
We wouldn't have a raffle without generous contributions from lots of lovely sewing related businesses so another HUGE thank you to them for donating too! Here is a list of everyone who took part.
