It's been a busy few months for use here at g&g since the last time I posted a new fabrics round up back in September so I've got lots of new things to share today!
To see the fabrics up close and get an idea of how they move, check out my latest youtube video. Read on for a round up of links to all the fabrics and patterns I mention!
I've decided to categorise them this time to make it easier to scan through and find something that catches your eye.
I'm super excited to have the new collection of Atelier brunette fabrics. The colours are so beautiful and of course the drape and flow is amazing. Some of them are quite light weight and may require lining, depending on the garment you are making. We've got some nice plain viscose fabrics that are perfect for that.
Over the past few months we have really expended our range of Liberty prints on different base cloths. From swim wear to sweatshirts and t-shirts to trousers there are fabrics great for a variety of garments.
These Lady McElroy prints on a new viscose jersey base are perfect for t-shirts and loose drapy tops and dresses (pictured right) and we also have a new selection of viscose florenza crepes. These are woven fabrics that have a lovely natural slubbed texture to them and flow beautifully. The are great for tops, blouses, dresses, wide legged trousers and jumpsuits.
We've had a new delivery of gorgeous Nani Iro and Kokka fabrics from Japan. Some are double gauze and some are cotton linen mixes and I just love the moody autumnal colours of them all.
They are great for tops and blouses or tunic style tops and dresses. They are light weight but will hold their shape and structure for a striking look.
We have added to our range of amazing metallic Robert Kaufmann cotton/linen fabrics. To see the full selection follow this link. These fabrics are good for skirts and dresses that have more structure to them. Lesely who works in the shop has used it in the past to make a Deer and Doe Belladone dress and it looked amazing!
These beautiful fabrics have hints of metallic running through them too, making them catch the light in such a lovely way. The would be perfect for a party skirt or little jacket.
We've had lots of gorgeous new stripe fabrics arrive. I love these subtle metallic ones, they'd make a lovely True Bias Nikko top - perfect for layering up! (pictured below left)
These cotton loopbacks are super soft and would be great as a Tilly and the Buttons Nora top! (pictured right below)
This next little collection are made from modal so they are super silky smooth and have a lovely drape and handle to them. They would be good for t-shirts and long sleeved tops too.
These next fabrics are more unusual, they are double faced so its like two layers of fabric bonded together. One side looks like a slubbed fine rib fabric and the other has a soft and fuzzy finish. They are great for using as a contrast, so the cuffs or hem bands of a garment like the Grainline Linden sweatshirt. They are classed as a 'jersey/stretch' fabric but they only have a bit of stretch so best for looser fitting garments like jumpers or hoodies.
Printed jersey and sweatshirt fabrics are great for wearing a bit of fun or for kids clothes. We have recently replenished our range of Ikatee patterns from France and they have some lovely options for little people.
We have also added new colours ways to our marl sweatshirting and modal loopback ranges. I really love this new warm orangy/terracotta colour way right now (pictured left).
And to our range of wintery woollen fabrics we have a new burnt orange and a bottle green wool viscose fabric. These are great for skirts, jackets and coats.
We also have 4 new colours of standard cotton jersey. They are a great basic to have and the colours are really rich and lovely.
And finally we have added new patterns to our range! If some of these are showing out of stock, then they will be back soon, sometimes they just sell out so quickly without us anticipating it!
