New fabrics for Spring - Laurens March round up!

It's my favourite time of year to sew, with the days getting longer here in the UK and some pockets of warmer sunny weather, I've been excitedly planning more spring summer makes and with lots of beautiful fabric arrivals into the shop this month there is plenty of inspiration to be had!

This months features all woven fabrics from textured cottons to fresh and buttery soft viscoses and some extra special and beautiful Liberty fabrics to mark their 150th Anniversary year! Wow!

You can see all the fabrics up close and how they drape and move in my latest Youtube video and read on for details and links of all the fabrics that I mention in the video.
Don't forget the Just Arrived section online will always have the very latest new fabrics so its good to keep an eye on that too over the coming weeks for even more gorgeous new fabrics!

Liberty Silks

These extra special silk fabrics are so, so beautiful! The vibrancy of the colours on the Liberty Crepe De Chine Silk base really pop and would make an amazing garment that you'd treasure forever! Feeling a little daunted about sewing with them? Don't worry - check out my top tips blog on sewing with silk linked below!

Knitted and Crochet Effect Fabrics

These more unusual fabrics fabric have a textured crochet or knitted effect would be lovely as a looser top/t-shirt or cardigan to layer over another garment.

New Colourways of Chicacheetah

We are delighted to introduce two new colourways of our iconic chicacheetah print - the pink and the sky blue! In a buttery soft viscose poplin that feels luxurious to wear, the bright colours in these fabrics will make a stunning statement garment.

Woven Vibrant Viscoses

If you love floaty tops and dresses with lots of swish then this selection of woven viscose fabrics has you covered - whether you are looking for something bright and fresh or more muted and a bit darker in colour.

Printed Denims

These fun printed denims are a lovely alternative to all the plain fabrics that you typically see in this type of twill base fabric. These more structured fabrics would be great for jackets, trousers, dungarees, jumpsuits and dresses that hold their shape and structure.

I hope you are feeling inspired for your next dressmaking project! Happy Sewing!
